The spring edition of this year's European Forum for New Ideas, which took place in Warsaw on 15-16 April 2025, was dedicated to the future of the labour market. On the first day of the event, the Minister of Labour Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk took part in a panel debate on the labour challenges faced by Europe.

The impact of digitalisation on the world of work and workers' rights, proactive policies aimed at the integration of migrants and equality in the labour market with a particular focus on care work were the main issues brought up at the Informal Meeting of Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs (EPSCO). The meeting, which was chaired by Minister of Labour Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, took place in Warsaw on 14-15 April 2025.

A comprehensive reform of the Polish labour market is becoming a reality. The President signed the acts on the labour market and employment services and on the conditions for allowing foreign nationals to work in the territory of the Republic of Poland. The acts was drafted by the Ministry of Labour.

On 3 April 2025, the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution, which called for starting work on the UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons. Poland is among the co-sponsors of the resolution.

It is extremely important, with all the fascination with the possibilities of digitisation, to approach its applications sensibly," said Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk in her opening speech at the second conference organised by the Ministry of Labour as part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. A meeting of European leaders focused on the impact of digitalization on the labour market is scheduled to occur in Warsaw on April 3-4 of this year.

In February this year Poland ranked first in the European Union with the lowest level of unemployment. This time we did not share our position as leaders with another country – the Czech Republic took second place. Third on the podium was Malta.

The acts drafted by the Ministry of Labour concerning the labour market and employment services and on the conditions for allowing foreign nationals to work on the territory of the Republic of Poland have passed the legislative process and are now only awaiting the President's signature.

On 19 March, Minister of Labour Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk took part in the Tripartite Social Summit for Growth and Employment in Brussels. In her speech, she raised the issues of the future of a united European community, as well as the challenges of the labour market in times of change.

19 March 2025 marks an important date for thousands of families in Poland. On this day, legislation introducing additional leave for parents of children born prematurely and hospitalised after birth came into force. We are giving them back the time they spent in hospitals - time they have lost before.

Supporting parents in raising children and returning to the labour market is an important part of the state's family policy. On Thursday, Minister of Labour Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk visited Bydgoszcz, where she spoke about additional spots in nurseries that are being created and will be created in the coming years thanks to the Active Toddler programme and funds from the National Recovery Plan.
