The development directions of the Social Economy in Poland and Europe were the central theme of an international expert seminar held on Thursday, 22 May 2025, at the Ministry of Labour headquarters. Representatives of public institutions, non-governmental organisations and academia shared insights and good practices relating to social entrepreneurship.

Access to high-quality childcare is essential for many parents seeking to return to the labour market after a parenting break. For the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, supporting parents in balancing family life and professional responsibilities is a top priority. By 2029, over 102,000 new places will be created in crèches and children's clubs throughout Poland - a commitment ensured by the Active Toddler programme.

Two important acts, originally drafted by the Ministry of Labour, have just been published in the Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland. These are the Act on the Conditions for the Admissibility of Employing Foreigners in the Territory of the Republic of Poland and the Act on the Labour Market and Employment Services. This means the new legislation will come into effect on 1 June 2025.

The registered unemployment rate in April 2025 was 5.2%, down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month, according to estimates by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Preliminary data show that unemployment fell in all voivodships, including areas affected by flooding last year.

On 17 April 2025, the fourth meeting of the Team for the Implementation of the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council to strengthen the application of the principle of equal pay for equal work or work of equal value between men and women through pay transparency and enforcement mechanisms was held at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Representatives of the ministry gave presentations on job evaluation.

The spring edition of this year's European Forum for New Ideas, which took place in Warsaw on 15-16 April 2025, was dedicated to the future of the labour market. On the first day of the event, the Minister of Labour Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk took part in a panel debate on the labour challenges faced by Europe.

The impact of digitalisation on the world of work and workers' rights, proactive policies aimed at the integration of migrants and equality in the labour market with a particular focus on care work were the main issues brought up at the Informal Meeting of Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs (EPSCO). The meeting, which was chaired by Minister of Labour Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, took place in Warsaw on 14-15 April 2025.

A comprehensive reform of the Polish labour market is becoming a reality. The President signed the acts on the labour market and employment services and on the conditions for allowing foreign nationals to work in the territory of the Republic of Poland. The acts was drafted by the Ministry of Labour.

On 3 April 2025, the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution, which called for starting work on the UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons. Poland is among the co-sponsors of the resolution.
