What changes await us in 2018? They includes development of places of care for the youngest, investment in activity and support for seniors, and further steps of the “For Life” programme.

In March 2015, the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights published the results of the largest global survey on violence against women[1]. It shows the commonness of the phenomenon of violence, taking into account both the adult life experiences as well as the cases of physical and sexual violence, faced by the respondents in their childhood.

Elżbieta Rafalska,  Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy received the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary  on December 4rd. The award was conferred by Janos Ader, President of Hungary.

On December 1st Minister E. Rafalska met with British Ambassador Jonathan Knott. 

Poland is in the top 7 countries with the lowest unemployment. In October this year, the unemployment rate in EU-28 was 7.4% , down from 7.5% in September 2017 and from 8.3% in October 2016. This is the lowest rate recorded in the EU28 since November 2008.

Poland is still ranked 4th among EU Member States in terms of the ratio of financial support for families to their average salary – according to the latest PwC survey.

Employment and professional activity rates on the rise, a drop in the number of the unemployed and unemployment at 4.7% – it is what the labour market situation in the thirdquarter this year looked like according to preliminary data from the latest Labour Force Survey. 

Over the last two years, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy undertook a number of measures for people with disabilities and their families.These include e.g. the “For Life” programme and tasks implemented by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities (PFRON).

At Grzegorz Palka Award ceremony on October 22nd Minister Rafalska was acknowledged for her outstanding contributions for local government. The Award is granted by Liga Krajowa.
