26.08.2021Young people will suggest to the government and the UN how they see the future of cities. Join the WUF11 Youth Council!The 11th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11) - the largest UN event dedicated to urban development - will take place in June 2022 in Katowice, Poland. Young people are involved in the preparations for WUF11 as part of the WUF11 Youth Council. In August, the government plenipotentiary for the organisation of the event, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, formally established the council. On 1 September, open recruitment was launched.

For the last 3 years, Polish entrepreneurs have been using EU funds to remove barriers and ensure accessibility in architectural, digital and ICT terms in homes, hospitals, schools, offices and public spaces of cities. European Funds are the source of funding for competitions with an "Accessibility Plus" component.

03.08.2021Law on the organisation of WUF11 by Poland signed by the PresidentPresident of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda signed a law on special solutions related to the organization of the 11th session of the World Urban Forum in Katowice. In June next year, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy together with UN-Habitat and the City of Katowice will organise the world's largest event on urban issues.

Intensive preparations for the world's largest event on urban issues are underway. In July, UN representatives visited our country and the Senate adopted a bill on the organisation of the 11th session of the World Urban Forum in Poland.

Our objective is to preserve the diversity of all areas while strengthening territorial cohesion and sustainable use of natural resources.

12.04.2021The National Recovery Plan - consultation summary35 days, 3 days of meetings with more than 10,000 participants on-line, 5 hearings, 5.5 thousand of opinions submitted via a form on the website - this is how the public consultation on the draft National Recovery Plan (NRP) can be summarised in a nutshell. Opinions are currently being analysed by a group of experts from the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy (MFiPR). There are already decisions on the first changes to the document.

09.04.2021Universities accessible for all studentsEven every tenth person with Asperger Syndrome manifests special abilities and can be an outstanding graduate and scientist. However, difficulties in finding their way in a new environment often stand in their way. Therefore, 40 universities across Poland will implement a programme of individual support for students with ASD (autism spectrum disorders). Under the agreement signed on 8 April 2021 at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, the project received funding from European Funds. The project implements the objectives of the government's "Accessibility Plus" Programme.

10.03.2021European Funds for a Modern Economy - we are opening consultationsPLN 36 billion constitutes the budget of the European Funds for a Modern Economy Programme (FENG), successor to the Intelligent Development Programme (IDP). The FENG will support among others research, implementation of innovations, use of advanced technologies, growth of competitiveness of Polish SMEs, and industrial transformation and entrepreneurship. The meeting commencing public consultations was opened by the deputy minister for funds and regional policy, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak. The FENG consultations will last until 14 April 2021.
