Poland in Kenya

On January 29th, H.E. Deputy Governor Tamalinye K. Koech and Deputy Ambassador Magdalena Moryksiewicz officially opened the computer lab at Enkereri Comprehensive School in Narok County, Kenya.

On January 27, on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, a ceremony was held at the United Nations Headquarters in Nairobi, attended by the Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Marcin Kubiak. The guest of honor at the ceremony was Holocaust survivor Wanda Albiński, the daughter of Halina Szenicer-Rotstein, a ghetto doctor and rescued by "Żegota”.

Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland, Mr Marcin Kubiak, participated in the extraordinary meeting in Mombasa of Heads of Missions of the EU Member States accredited to Kenya.

On 22 January 2026, Mr. Marcin Kubiak, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Republic of Poland in Kenya, was received by the Director of Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kenya, Severine Luyali.

As of January 1, 2026, a new tariff of consular fees comes into force in connection with the Regulation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of October 29, 2025.

As part of a development project of the Embassy of Poland in Nairobi, in collaboration with the HAART Foundation, the publication "Voices for Freedom. An Anthology: Where Survivor Stories Lead the Way" was published, consisting of 25 essays/stories on the issue of human trafficking. The anthology is a unique attempt to give voice to survivors of human trafficking.

We kindly inform you that on December 24-26, 2025 and January 1 and 6, 2026 the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi and its Consular Section will be closed due to Christmas, the New Year's Day and Epiphany, which are public holidays observed in Kenya and in Poland.

In December 2025, two key meetings took place at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi: the 7th meeting of the Open-ended Committee of Permanent Representatives (OECPR-7) from 1-5 December 2025, followed by the 7th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) from 8-12 December 2025.

This December, two events took place in Nairobi as part of the cultural project "Hybrid BIO_GEO-GRAPHIES by Jakub Barua” supported by the Embassy of Poland and dedicated to the filmmaking of this Polish-Kenyan director.
