In December 2023, January, February and March 2024, the 19:30 service recorded a dramatic drop in viewership. The following months did not reverse the downward trend and the program did not regain viewers.

The National Broadcasting Council informs that the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, did not take up the invitation, and therefore the opportunity to personally discuss with the Members of the National Broadcasting Council the ways of resolving the crisis in the public media after his decisions in December 2023 regarding changes in the management boards and liquidation of public media.

The programme Szkło kontaktowe [‘Contact Lens’], broadcast on TVN 24 on 15 May at 10:00 p.m., disseminated vulgar content violating Article 18(7) of the Broadcasting Act.

After the reportage’s airing, the National Broadcasting Council received a record number of complaints in its history. A total of 6,058 submissions were registered (e-mails, website forms, submissions through the ePUAP platform, and letters sent by traditional mail). These submissions included 39,613 signatures of citizens expressing their opposition to the program’s content.

The KRRiT has passed a resolution to postpone the implementation dates of the schedule of 18.10.2023, instead set pursuant to KRRiT Resolution No. 194/2023 of 13.09.2023.
