The project of Poland’s promotion through sport, initiated by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and carried out by the Polish Tourist Organization as the project operator, will systematize and intensify activities in this area.

01.08.2023The Warsaw Uprising began on 1 August 1944 at 5pm, following a decision by Home Army Commander General Tadeusz Komorowski 'Bór'. On the 79th anniversary of the event Minister of Sport and Tourism Kamil Bortniczuk laid flowers at the bust of Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński and the plaque to his memory, and at the Monument of the Little Insurgent.

19.07.2023– Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Meet is one of the best sports events promoting Poland. The meeting is held as part of the Diamond League. This year’s edition took place last Sunday in Chorzów and was organized to the highest standards. I would like to thank the Polish athletes for the great sporting emotions and to congratulate the hosts, said minister of Sport and Tourism Kamil Bortniczuk during a press briefing at the ministry headquarters.

The Polish national team has achieved very good results and has taken 6th place in the medal count, which is the white-and-reds’ best place in their history as participants of major multisport events.

30.06.2023Forty-one government delegations have adopted a subsequent statement on Russia’s war against Ukraine and international sport. The statement was issued at the 7th International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Sport, held under the auspices of UNESCO. Poland was among the countries that drew up the statement calling on the international community to continue showing solidarity with Ukraine. The full text of the statement is available below.

30.06.2023On 1 July 2023, Minister of Sport and Tourism Kamil Bortniczuk started his three-year term of office as a representative of the European Union on the Foundation Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The Foundation Board is WADA’s supreme decision-making body that determines the framework and development directions of the global anti-doping system impacting millions of athletes around the world.

27.06.2023Three Polish restaurants have been awarded prestigious Michelin stars, seven have received the title of Bib Gourmand, and thirty-nine have been judged worthy of recommendation. The Michelin Plaque award ceremony, attended by Deputy Minister Andrzej Gut-Mostowy, was held on June 27 in Poznań.
