09.03.2022The Sejm has adopted an act on assistance for Ukrainian citizens in connection with the armed conflict on its territory- "This act is not only our moral duty but also the Polish raison d'état. A free and independent Ukraine is a Polish national interest. When its soldiers are defending it, we must take care of those fleeing the horrors of war,” said Deputy Minister Maciej Wąsik during work on the bill in the Sejm.

That is the highest result in these ten days. More people are still arriving. Since the beginning of Russia's aggression against Ukraine until today, nearly 800 thousand people have crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border fleeing from the bombs falling on their homeland - said Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker at a morning briefing. It took place in front of the Warsaw Torwar, currently serving as a reception point for refugees. The briefing was also attended by Konstanty Radziwiłł, the Mazovian voivode.
