A delegation of the National Atomic Energy Agency met with representatives of the Swedish nuclear regulatory authority (SSM) in Stockholm.

The topics discussed during the visit of the PAA delegation to Sweden included not only matters related to ongoing cooperation and exchange of experience between Polish and Swedish nuclear regulators. Issues related to new nuclear technologies and the regulatory framework related to their licensing were also discussed. The delegations also focused on the development of the competencies of both regulatory bodies and the experiences and conclusions that result from this.

The Polish delegation was headed by Andrzej Głowacki, President of the PAA. The Swedish delegation was led by Michael Knochenhauer, the head of the  nuclear regulatory authority of this country.

The PAA delegation also had the opportunity to visit the Swedish nuclear power plant Forsmark, as well as to see a training center where personnel working in Swedish nuclear power plants are trained on special simulators.
