Meeting of the PAA President with the U.S. NRC Chairman

The President of the National Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Poland, Dr. Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, took part in a bilateral meeting with Christopher T. Hanson, recently desiganted Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (U.S. NRC). Online bilateral meeting took place on February 23.

During the meeting, the PAA President and the U.S. NRC Chairman confirmed the priorities of bilateral cooperation for the coming years. These include: organization of specialist consultations on the American experience in the supervision of the construction of new nuclear facilities, cooperation in the field of safety analyzes using American computing programs, and the on-the-job trainings of experts in analyzes and nuclear regulatory inspectors. 
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (U.S. NRC) was established in 1974. NRC regulates the operation of 95 commercial nuclear power reactors that generate electricity and 31 research and test reactors. The National Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Poland signed an agreement with the U.S. NRC for the Exchange of Technical Information and Cooperation in Nuclear Safety Matters in 2010. It was renewed in 2016.
