Meeting with representatives of the United States Department of Energy

On April 5, 2024, the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency, Andrzej Głowacki, met with the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Nuclear Energy, Dr. Michael Goff. The meeting took place on the occasion of the ceremonial opening of the Polish-American Regional Training Center for Clean Energy Technologies (Clean Energy Training Center - CETC).

The main topic of the meeting was an overview of Polish-American cooperation in the context of preparations for the licensing process of the first Polish nuclear power plant. The parties exchanged information on the status of the project and the course of bilateral cooperation between nuclear regulatory authorities.  At the same time, the potential development of the Agency's cooperation with the U. S. Department of Energy was also discussed during the meeting.

On the occasion of the opening of the Polish-American Regional Training Center for Clean Energy Technologies (CETC), the parties mutually confirmed their willingness to cooperate by organizing trainings and specialized workshops in Poland. These activities will help strengthen the human resources capacity of the PAA and are a response to the challenges related to the implementation of the project of the first Polish nuclear power plant.
