14.06.2023The President of the National Atomic Energy Agency and the Vice President of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) have signed the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the Memorandum of Cooperation on Small Modular Reactors (SMR). A committee on advanced nuclear technologies and SMRs was established, with experts from the CNSC and PAA as members.

23.05.2023On May 23, the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency issued a general opinion on selected technical assumptions for the BWRX-300 reactor technology. The PAA verified the compliance of the technical assumptions described in the application for a general opinion with Polish nuclear safety requirements contained in the legal acts indicated by the applicant.

24.04.2023Representatives of the national nuclear regulatory authorities of EU Member States met in Brussels on April 24 to discuss further cooperation on nuclear safety. At the meeting of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG), Poland was represented by the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency, Andrzej Głowacki.

29.03.2023On March 22, 2023, the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, at the request of the Minister of Climate and Environment, appointed Andrzej Glowacki as the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA). On March 29, Anna Moskwa, Minister of Climate and Environment, on behalf of the head of the government, handed the appointment to the new President of the PAA.

21.02.2023On March 20, a plenary session of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) was held, bringing together representatives of the national nuclear regulatory authorities of the European Union Member States. Poland was represented by a delegation from the National Atomic Energy Agency, headed by the President of the PAA, Andrzej Głowacki, and the Director of the PAA's Policy and International Cooperation Bureau, Iga Pocztarek-Tofil.

13.02.2023The acting President of the National Atomic Energy Agency and the head of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission signed an agreement extending the existing regulatory cooperation. The signed memorandum concerns joint activities in the field of small modular reactors, such as the BWRX-300.

08.02.2023The War Studies University (ASzWoj) became an academic partner cooperating with the National Atomic Energy Agency. On Wednesday, February 8th, the heads of the PAA and the ASzWoj signed an agreement on nuclear safety and radiological protection of the country.
