On January 18, the Chief Deputy of the Head of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Frank A. Rose met in Warsaw with Andrzej Głowacki, the acting President of the PAA, and Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment.

The role of the National Atomic Energy Agency in the Polish nuclear power programme - was one of the topics of talks between the acting President of the PAA and the management of the Directorate General for Energy in the European Commission. During the meeting in Warsaw, the scope of PAA's activities in the European Group of Nuclear Safety Regulators was also discussed.

We are developing a map of the country's radiation situation - from now on, the map portal publishes the results of measurements of the ionizing radiation level of thirteen new PMS stations belonging to the PAA, as well as the results provided by the stations of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management.

The 13th new PMS (Permanent Monitoring Station) contamination station was launched in the operating year of the National Atomic Energy Agency. A larger number of stations means a faster response in the event of a crisis.

On December 16, the Acting President of the PAA, Vice President Andrzej Głowacki, hosted a delegation from the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS) headed by KINS President, Sok Chul Kim.

As of December 15, 2022, the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, entrusted the performance of the duties of the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency to Vice President Andrzej Głowacki.

The celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) and topics of licensing and safety of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are lead topics in the 4/2022 issue of the "Nuclear Safety and Radiological Protection" bulletin, which is now available on the PAA website. The bulletin also discusses the effects of low radiation doses and Chernobyl tourism.

Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz submitted his resignation from office of the President of the PAA to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The Prime Minister accepted this resignation and recalled Dr. Młynarkiewicz from the office of the President of the PAA as of December 14, 2022.

Licensing and safety assessment of new nuclear power plants were the main topics of the workshop organized by the PAA in Warsaw. The event was attended by American experts from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of the United States of America (US NRC).
