30.09.2022PAA at 66th IAEA General ConferenceThe National Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Poland conducted series of consultations aimed at strengthening nuclear safety during the 66th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The Polish delegation was chaired by Anna Moskwa, Minister of Climate and Environment. The vice-chairmen of the national delegation were PAA President Łukasz Młynarkiewicz and PAA Vice-President Andrzej Głowacki.

15.09.2022The IAEA Board of Governors calls upon Russia to cease all actions against the Zaporizhzhya NPPOn 15 September, the IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution calling upon the Russian Federation to immediately leave the territory of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. The resolution was proposed and prepared by Poland and Canada.

14.09.2022Topical Peer Review of reactor Maria – the assessment of safety of nuclear installationsSafety and fire protection are at heart of the second round of the Topical Peer Review (TPR 2) carried out by EU countries every 6 years. In Poland, the only facility where such an assessment will be carried out is nuclear reactor Maria. The PAA President has already issued a decision on the safety assessment of the Polish research reactor.

12.09.2022The meeting of the IAEA Board of GovernorsThe PAA President, Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, is attending the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors. The meeting started on Monday, 12 September, in Vienna and will last until 16 September. The representatives of 35 Member States are debating on e.g. the nuclear safety in Ukraine.

09.09.2022Meetings of the Polish nuclear regulatory authority with American partnersThe Polish Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) is enhancing its competence as the nuclear regulatory authority. PAA President, Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, met up with the Chairman of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Christopher Hanson in Rockville n. Washington. Further cooperation and training for PAA personnel at US nuclear facilities were discussed.

06.09.2022PAA meeting with the SNRIUPAA President, Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, and Deputy President, Andrzej Głowacki, were talking to the representative of the Ukrainian nuclear regulator, Oleh Korikov. The talks focused on the Zaporizhzhya NPP and the planned enhancement of cooperation between the PAA and SNRIU.

The radiation situation in Poland is within normal range. There is no threat to health and life of people and the environment.
