21.04.2022The representatives of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) and the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT) are now participating in a 3-month on-the-job training (OJT) in the US. The purpose is to strengthen the Agency’s human resources of experts and inspectors, who will be participating in the supervision and operation of the first nuclear power plant in Poland.

12.04.2022The Council of Ministers adopted a resolution on the approval of the strategy and policy on the development of nuclear safety and radiation protection of the Republic of Poland, submitted by the Minister of Climate and the Environment.

07.04.2022On 5 and 6 April 2022, in Bonn, Germany, there was a plenary meeting of the Western European Nuclear Regulators Association (WENRA). The meeting was attended by the heads of European nuclear regulators. Poland was represented by the Vice President, Mr Andrzej Głowacki.

17.03.2022The National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) ran a virtual workshop on approach to licensing new nuclear facilities, including small modular reactors (SMR).

04.03.2022“As the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) reports, there is no damage to the systems which are vital for the nuclear safety of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant"- the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, emphasized on 4 March 2022. The President of the National Atomic Energy Agency, Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, also participated in the press conference”.

03.03.2022On 3 March, the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), during an emergency meeting, called at the request of Poland and Canada, adopted a resolution deploring Russian aggression against Ukraine and calling for the cessation of all actions against nuclear facilities on its territory. During the 2-day Board’s session, Poland was represented by Dr. Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, President of the Polish National Atomic Energy Agency, and Dominika Krois, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations Office in Vienna.
