    The first meeting of the Board of Governors of the IAEA with the participation of Poland has begun. The on-line meeting is attended by, among others, Dominika Krois, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations Office and the International Organisations in Vienna and Dr. Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, President of the PAA.

    Regulatory dialogue is an implementation of a good international practice to streamline the regulatory process. The dialogue will ease the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) to make a safety assessment of the planned nuclear installations.

    Minister of Climate Michał Kurtyka, upon request of Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), has appointed Andrzej Głowacki, formerly the Director of the PAA Nuclear Safety and Security Department, to the position of Vice-President of the National Atomic Energy Agency.

    The National Atomic Energy Agency will expand the network of monitoring station for early detection of radioactive contamination. By the end of the year, a total of 15 new devices will monitor the eastern border of Poland. In the presence of the Minister of Climate - Mr Michał Kurtyka and the Minister of the Environment - Mr Michał Woś, letters of intent were signed with Voivods and a framework agreement with the Director of General Directorate of the State Forests.

    Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, upon request of the Minister of Climate Michał Kurtyka, has appointed Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz as the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) with effect from 11 May 2020. Before the appointment Dr Młynarkiewicz had been serving as acting PAA President.
