The PAA's delegation at the Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF)
25.06.2025
Andrzej Głowacki, President of the National Atomic Energy Agency is participating in the meeting of the Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF), held in Vienna.
The PAA is an active member of the RCF. Thanks to the cooperation within the Forum, the Polish nuclear regulatory authority can more rapidly strengthen the competencies that will be needed, among other things, in the implementation of tasks under the Polish Nuclear Power Programme. The activities that will be implemented and are planned within the RCF include for example foreign training internships, study visits, technical workshops and expert meetings. On the occasion of the Forum, other needs of the PAA were also discussed, which can be implemented in cooperation with regulatory authorities from countries with more advanced nuclear programmes.
During the Forum, the President of the Polish Nuclear Power Agency, Andrzej Głowacki, presented the status of preparations for the implementation of tasks under the Polish Nuclear Energy Programme. He also discussed the priorities, plans and challenges that the Agency identifies in this area. There was also the topic of dialogue with investors who plan to engage in projects using advanced nuclear technologies in Poland.
The Regulatory Cooperation Forum was established on the initiative of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Its main goal is to support nuclear regulators from countries that have plans to launch nuclear power by countries with more advanced nuclear programmes. It is through such cooperation that countries that have nuclear power more strongly developed share knowledge of and experience in regulatory oversight with countries with less developed nuclear programmes. This enables faster development of the necessary competencies.
