Foreign companies are eager to invest in Poland

The events of recent years - the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis - are challenges faced by all economies in the world. International cooperation and investment is the key to its recovery. Our government is encouraging investment in Poland. Last year we saw an increase of around 19% in foreign investment relative to 2020.

The positive statistics of recent years are a very strong sign of confidence in the business environment. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has repeatedly stressed that the Polish government is creating the best possible environment for investors, both on the tax and regulatory side.

Capital commitment in foreign investment in 2021 was a record high at PLN 114 billion. This is the fourth best result in the European Union.

New jobs for Polish women and men

Every new investment by a foreign company in Poland is a direct benefit for the people of our country. It means not only economic development, but also new jobs.

Thanks to responsible decisions, today we can enjoy low unemployment. According to Eurostat, the unemployment rate in Poland was 2.9% in December 2022 and 6.1% in the euro area.
Only the Czech Republic recorded a lower rate than Poland (2.3%).

Volvo Cars

The company currently operates three Tech Hubs - two in Sweden (Stockholm and Lund) and one in Bangalore, India. In addition, it also has large engineering centres in Shanghai, China, and Gothenburg, Sweden. The Swedish company aims to be an exclusively electric car brand by 2030.

The Tech Hubs are responsible for the technological development of Volvo cars, including the artificial intelligence built into them. The Kraków branch will be responsible for safety technologies, driver support algorithms and autonomous driving software.
