Briefing following information on violation of Polish airspace

A briefing by Prime Minister Donald Tusk was held at noon at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister following information on violation of our country’s airspace. The Prime Minister held a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, attended by the Minister of National Defence, the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services and the heads of the following services: the Internal Security Agency, the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service. Prime Minister Donald Tusk also held talks with President Andrzej Duda.
Violation of airspace
As reported by the Armed Forces Operational Command, in the morning an unidentified aerial object flew into Polish airspace, from the side of the border with Ukraine. From the moment it crossed the border until the point where the signal disappeared, it was observed by the radiolocating means of the country's air defence system. In accordance with the procedures in force, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces mobilised the available forces and resources at his disposal.

In connection with this event, at 12:00, Prime Minister Donald Tusk met for a briefing with the Chief of the General Staff, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, attended by the Minister of National Defence, the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services and the heads of the following services: the Internal Security Agency, the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service. Prime Minister Donald Tusk also held talks with President Andrzej Duda.
Meeting at the National Security Bureau
Following the information about the violation of Polish airspace, a briefing was held at the National Security Bureau with the participation of, among others, President Andrzej Duda, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Chief of General Staff Gen Wiesław Kukuła and Operational Commander of the Armed Forces Gen Maciej Klisz.
"All organs of the state are cooperating and undertaking relevant tasks. This is our most important matter – to ensure the security of Poland and Poles. To take care of security and work together to guarantee safety," stressed Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. "Polish and allied systems have worked. We are in constant contact with our allies," he added.
As explained by the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces Gen Maciej Klisz, the foreign object stayed in Polish airspace for less than three minutes before returning to Ukrainian territory.
