Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński: 14th pension this year will amount to 2,200 PLN
20.08.2023
Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński attended the Harvest festival of Łódź Province in Paradyż, where he announced the amount of the 14th pension. In 2023, seniors will receive a 14th pension of PLN 2,200. The additional funds will be granted to around 8.3 million pensioners. By government decision, as of 2023, the 14th pension is a permanent benefit and will be paid every year.
14th pension paid every year
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that from this year, thanks to the government's actions, the 14th pension is a permanent benefit, guaranteed by law. He also announced that, in 2023, it will amount to PLN 2,200. When paying the fourteenth pension to people whose pension is above PLN 2,900, the principle of reducing the amount of benefits received if the income criterion is exceeded applies. This is money that seniors can use according to their needs - for example, for holidays or additional rehabilitation activities.
- This is another step on the part of our government and another step on the part of the state to ensure that the group that may have lost the most due to inflation, namely pensioners, gets full compensation, Deputy Prime Minister Kaczyński explained.
We have lowered the retirement age
- The previous government, against the will of the public, raised the retirement age. Polish women and men were supposed to work much longer. Our government has kept its promise - we have lowered the retirement age to what it was before the adverse changes.
- On that day when it was being raised, I announced from the parliamentary rostrum that if we took over, we would restore the retirement age to what it was before the changes, and we did.
