Recent years have seen an increasing number of new investments serving residents across the country. Children and young people from Truskolasy - the hometown of Jakub Błaszczykowski, have gained a new football pitch. The opening ceremony of the sports facility was attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The head of government also visited the Małopolska Voivodeship. Together with firefighters from the District Command in Dąbrowa Tarnowska, he participated in the ceremonial commissioning of a new fire station building. At the end of the visit, Prime Minister Morawiecki commemorated the 80th anniversary of the death of the famous Polish skier - Helena Marusarzówna.
Modern football pitch in Jakub Błaszczykowski's home village
Throughout the country, investments close to the residents are being built. Among various types of undertakings, the modernisation and construction of sports infrastructure are also taking place. In Truskolasy, the home village of Jakub Błaszczykowski, the construction of a new football pitch has been completed. "I am very pleased that, in line with our announcements, we managed to create such a great pitch here for young people," said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the opening ceremony.
Truskolasy did not have a professional pitch until now. "In my day, people used to refer to such pitches, as we used to have here or in the lower football leagues, as potato fields. The quality of these fields was no different to that of a potato field. Today this infrastructure is getting better," remarked Prime Minister.
Thanks to government funding, a modern facility was built in Truskolasy, where children and young people will be able to pursue their sporting passions. The opening ceremony was also attended by the former captain of the Polish national team, Jakub Błaszczykowski, who, on behalf of the entire community, thanked everyone for the support. The footballer emphasised that the infrastructure is changing, and the construction of the pitch in his hometown made his next dream come true.
New fire station building in Dąbrowa Tarnowska
40 years - that is how long the firemen from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Dąbrowa Tarnowska waited for a new fire station. The investment was made possible thanks to PLN 17 million in funding from the state budget. A complex was erected in place of the old building, including the fire station building, administrative and office part, garages, social rooms for firefighters working in shifts, as well as a warehouse for flood prevention equipment. In addition, a manoeuvring area, a pitch, a climbing wall and a practice water tank have been built outside. "Nothing happens without reason. This fire station was built because of the hard work that went into repairing public finances," stressed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the ceremony of commissioning the new building.
The Prime Minister thanked firefighters, guides and scouts for their fortitude, courage and everyday service for the Polish people. The head of government also addressed words of appreciation to firefighters who take part in international operations: “I would also like to thank the firefighters who took part in fire-fighting missions in Greece, Turkey and Sweden, and who are also participating in many operations in other countries. In this way, we show what solidarity means in practice.”
80th anniversary of the death of the famous Polish skier - Helena Marusarzówna
Helena Marusarzówna was born in 1918 in Zakopane. She was the best Polish ski athlete - a seven-time Polish champion in alpine competitions. After the outbreak of World War II, she became involved in the Polish resistance movement. In September 1941, at the age of 23, she was shot by the Germans in Pogórska Wola.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki honoured her memory at a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of her death. "In 1939, after Germany attacked Poland, Helena Marusarzówna devoted herself to rescuing people and getting them across the border. She served as a liaison officer in the communication unit of the Union of Armed Struggle under the pseudonym "Zagroda". She also smuggled documents across the border," emphasised the head of government. The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude towards schools that have chosen Helena Marusarzówna as their patroness. These include the Primary School in Pogórska Wola, where the skier was murdered by the Germans. On one of the walls of the building, students and teachers commemorated their patron through a mural that portrays her.
