Future Council: Poland on the Path to Acceleration and Technological Sovereignty
10.02.2026
"What we are observing today reinforces our belief that Poland can be one of the best places in the world for the development of the economy and innovation,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk said during the ceremony establishing the Future Council, composed of representatives of the worlds of business and science. Poland's ambition is not only to participate in the global race for a better future, but above all to lead it. The Council's work will rely on cooperation among exceptionally ambitious and experienced individuals who have achieved success in their respective fields on a global scale, while remaining strongly connected to Poland. The Council will be chaired by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domański.
The Future Council Established
Prime Minister Donald Tusk today appointed the Future Council, a body composed of 19 members representing science and business, along with Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański, who will oversee the Council’s work.
“I would like to sincerely thank everyone who agreed to join the Future Council. These are very busy people who do not lack success in science, business, or in shaping entirely new realities. These are individuals who have helped Poland reach space, who are capable of producing the satellites most valued today,” the Prime Minister said.
The Future Council will serve as an advisory body to the Prime Minister, preparing recommendations for actions and solutions to support Poland’s continued development. One of its tasks will be to identify new growth engines based on innovation, human capital, and intellectual property. It will focus on shortening the path from research to product, as well as on the commercialisation and scaling of technologies in Poland.
“I am convinced that very soon the Council will present solutions and tools that will enable the Polish economy to grow even faster, with technological sovereignty as one of the first key topics. We must make our economy resilient to external threats,” assured Minister Andrzej Domański.
The Council’s objective is to make Poland a leader in key areas. As a result, the country is to be not only ambitious, modern, and competitive, but also secure.
The Future Council includes scientists, business representatives, and experts in fields such as artificial intelligence, space technologies, biotechnology, financial technologies, and dual-use technologies (with both military and civilian applications).
The Future Belongs to Poland
In recent years, Poland has become “trendy,” and positive perceptions of the country are increasingly confirmed by reality. It is in Poland that there is a real opportunity for a better future.
“We live in one of the best places on Earth, primarily thanks to the activity, creativity, and diligence of our people. Of course, luck is also needed to achieve success, and luck favours the better prepared,” the Prime Minister said.
Poland’s future and stable development now require acceleration, in the economy, business, and science alike. They also require greater flexibility and modernisation of decision-making procedures.
“Poland is currently the world’s 20th largest economy, a great success, but not guaranteed forever. That is why we must build new competitive advantages and win in the global race,” Minister Andrzej Domański stated.
Poland aims to develop these advantages in areas such as artificial intelligence, space technologies, dual-use technologies, and biotechnology.
2026 - The Year of Acceleration
According to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the previous year was a breakthrough year, while 2026 will be the year of acceleration. The greatest reserve and key source of Poland’s development, what can make the country an undisputed leader not only in the region but also in Europe economically, lies in the minds of its people, especially young Polish women and men.
“We are all mindful of those who are just entering adulthood and already impress with their preparation, intellect, and ideas , not only here in Poland, but around the world. We will also want to place them under wise care,” the Prime Minister announced.
Our goal is to create conditions in which all Polish women and men, with ambition and potential, often not yet fully discovered, can fulfil their aspirations and dreams here, in Poland.
