Letter from Prime Minister Donald Tusk with greetings to members of the Civil Service Corps

17.02.2024

On 17 February, we celebrate the first statutory Civil Service Day. On this occasion, Prime Minister Donald Tusk sent a letter to all members of the civil service corps.

Letter

Ladies and Gentlemen, Members of the Civil Service Corps,

This year, February 17 is a special day for all members of the Civil Service Corps. On this day, we celebrate the statutory Civil Service Day for the first time. This date is no coincidence. It refers to the adoption in 1922 by the Sejm of the Second Republic of Poland of the Act on the State Civil Service, which was to ensure the effective implementation of the policy of the reborn state in various areas of social, cultural and economic life.

Referring today to this beautiful page of our history, I would like to emphasize that we must do everything we can to ensure that the contemporary Polish administration can proudly refer to these glorious traditions. That is why I would like to assure you that the government will work with all determination to raise the prestige and strengthen the civil service, which has been successively downgraded in recent years. I am convinced that the concern for the increase in the importance and professionalism of the Polish administration will have a positive impact on increasing the development potential of the entire country.

To all the members of the Civil Service Corps who dedicate themselves to their work every day, I express my appreciation and best wishes. It is thanks to you, among others, that Poland is becoming a modern country with a strong international position. I wish you a lot of success in your professional work and every success in your personal life.
