Maciej Berek

Member of the Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers.

Doctor of law, legal advisor, assistant professor at the Department of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, expert at the Center for Research, Studies and Legislation of the National Council of Legal Advisors.

In the years 2007-2015, president of the Government Legislation Center, in the years 2008-2015, secretary of the Council of Ministers. In the years 1997-2022, he also worked in offices serving various constitutional public authorities, including: as director general of the Office of the Ombudsman, deputy director of the Department of Budget and Finance of the Supreme Audit Office, deputy director of the Department of Legal and Audit Jurisprudence of the Supreme Audit Office.

Director of the Senate Information Center, deputy director of the Legal and Organizational Office of the Senate Chancellery, legislator in the Senate Chancellery.

For two terms (in 2009-2017) he was a member of the Main Adjudicating Committee in Cases of Violation of Public Finance Discipline.

As a legal advisor, he cooperated with, among others, with the National Council of Legal Advisors, Employers of the Republic of Poland, and the National Council of Laboratory Diagnostics.

Author of publications on constitutional law, issues of creating and promulgating law, public finances and public finance discipline.
