Marzena Okła-Drewnowicz

Sociologist. A graduate of master's and doctoral studies at the Catholic University of Lublin, as well as postgraduate studies in social welfare organization at the University of Economics in Kielce.

She started her professional career at the District Labor Office in Skarżysko-Kamienna, where she held, among others, the position of leader of the Labor Club. Then she worked for nine years at the Municipal Social Welfare Center as deputy director.

She managed the municipal structures of the Children's Friends Society and founded other local non-governmental organizations.

Creator of one of the first consultation and intervention points for victims of domestic violence.

For years, she was the chairman of the Provincial Council of Rural Women's Circles.

She lectured at the College of Social Service Workers and worked as a teacher at the Professional Development Center.

In 2006, she was elected as a councilor of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, and in 2007, as a member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.

She also renewed her parliamentary mandate in 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023.

In the Sejm, she has been involved in activities related to social policy from the beginning, with particular emphasis on senior policy.

Twice elected vice-chairwoman of the senior policy committee and vice-chairwoman of the social policy and family committee.

Author and co-author of many programs and bills, including: on assistance to dependent persons or amending the Act on Seniors' Councils.

In 2017, she created and led the Senior Poland project, under which, during almost 100 meetings throughout Poland, together with MPs from the Civic Coalition club, she consulted the comprehensive program of the Civic Platform in the field of senior policy.

From 2021, vice-chairman of the Civic Platform of the Republic of Poland.

Her passions are long solo bike trips and Marvel movies.
