27.06.2022

The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, together with Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Maliar, opened in Warsaw an exhibition of Russian military equipment destroyed by Ukraine. Minister Michał Dworczyk highlighted the heroism and determination of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians in defending not only their country but also Poland and the whole of Europe.

Minister, szef KPRM Michał Dworczyk oraz wiceminister Obrony Ukrainy Hanna Maliar otworzyli w Warszawie wystawę zniszczonego przez Ukrainę rosyjskiego sprzętu wojskowego.

Exhibition "For our freedom and yours"

The exhibition, presented in Castle Square, Warsaw, features the wreckage of Russian military equipment destroyed during the war in Ukraine.

"Castle Square embodies the heroism of the Polish defenders during the Warsaw Uprising and acts as a witness to the tragic events when the occupiers destroyed the city," the head of the Chancellery pointed out. "Today we are facing a similar situation in Ukraine. Russian barbarians are ruthlessly murdering not only defenders but also civilians while destroying Ukrainian villages and towns," he added.

There are also plans to display the exhibition "For our freedom and yours" in other venues in Poland and Western Europe to raise awareness of the atrocity of war and the situation in Ukraine.

Ukraine is fighting for Poland and Europe too

Minister Michał Dworczyk praised the courage and determination of Ukrainian soldiers as well as civilians and volunteers. "The Ukrainian army defending its country is also defending Poland and Europe," the minister said. "It is worth reminding this to all those who question the sense of the military aid provided to Ukraine by Poland or other countries," he explained.

The head of the Chancellery also stressed that the wreckage on display dispels the myth of the Russian army. "Courage, determination and professionalism – these are the elements that will enable the Ukrainians to defeat the Russian aggressor," Michał Dworczyk pointed out.

Military aid to Ukraine

The value of military aid donated by Poland to the Ukrainian army exceeded 1.8 billion euros. Poland ranks second in the world and first in Europe in terms of the value of military aid to Ukraine.

Poland's provision of military aid to Ukraine is a de facto investment in our country's security.
