The Chancellery of the Prime Minister hosted the inaugural meeting of a special team tasked with developing a concept for changing the financing system of the Church Fund. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He announced that the first report on the team's work will be issued on March 31.

The head of government, Donald Tusk, attended an extraordinary meeting of the European Council held in Brussels. During an additional gathering of European leaders, a unanimous decision was reached to revise the multiannual financial framework (MFF) for 2021–2027. All Member States of the European Union voted in favour of providing four years of support for Ukraine.

The head of government has decided to withdraw the request to examine the constitutionality of the Istanbul Convention from the Constitutional Tribunal. During the press conference, Prime Minister Donald Tusk also delivered good news for entrepreneurs in the beauty industry. The government will reduce VAT for this sector as early as 1 April 2024.

President Andrzej Duda appointed government representatives designated by Prime Minister Donald Tusk to the Social Dialogue Council. Thus, the most important institution of national social dialogue can resume its work.

The government wants to resume the work of the Social Dialogue Council as soon as possible, which is why on 5 January Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed ministers to represent the government in the work of the Council. At the same time, he asked President Andrzej Duda to appoint ministers to the council as soon as possible.

Adults with disabilities will receive more support. The social pension for people who are totally unable to work due to disability will be increased to the level of the minimum wage. Such a solution is provided for in the citizens' draft amendment to the Social Pension Act. The bill was submitted to the Sejm in the previous term, but only now has it been submitted to the first reading. Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed from the Sejm rostrum that the government will work hard to ensure that the regulations enter into force as soon as possible.

The Council of Ministers has adopted a bill that allows the purchase of the so-called morning-after pill without a prescription from the age of 15. Thanks to this, women will be able to decide for themselves and quickly use emergency contraception. During the press conference, Prime Minister Donald Tusk also announced Polish-Ukrainian intergovernmental consultations. The first meeting is to take place in March in Warsaw.

The head of the Polish government visited Kyiv, where he held talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and other officials. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to those killed in the war with Russia and met with Ukrainian students as part of Ukrainian Unity Day. As noted by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Poland will support Ukraine in its war against Russia and its efforts to become a full member of the EU.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk spoke in the Sejm during consideration of the opposition's motion for a vote of no confidence in Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz. The head of government referred to the propaganda activities of the public media under the previous government, as well as to the record high salaries. He expressed his full support for the activities of Minister Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz.

Chaired by Minister and Member of the Council of Ministers, Maciej Berk, a series of meetings on the principles and practices of conducting public consultations and providing assessment of government documents commenced at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, as permanent elements of the legislative process in a democratic state of law. The participants in the discussion emphasized that this is the first time they have ever had the opportunity to participate in such a meeting, which gives hope for a different level of cooperation and lawmaking.
