Next year we will exceed 5% growth. This is an excellent environment for the dynamic development of Polish entrepreneurs and companies”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit to a transport company in Źródła, Dolnośląskie Voivodeship. During his visit, Mr Morawiecki also visited a Respite Care Nursing Home construction site in Wrocław, where he thanked everyone involved in its construction.

30.07.2021The Polish Deal becomes a reality. The Council of Ministers adopts the first billsTurning words into deeds, the Council of Ministers has adopted the first bills under the Polish Deal. Projects on counteracting unfair commercial practices in agriculture, increased reimbursement of excise duties on agricultural fuel, better health care financing, opening up agricultural retail trade, offshore wind farm investment projects, as well as the construction of little Science Centres are just some of those that will soon be submitted to the Sejm. And this is just the beginning. We are soon going to proceed with other previously announced bills to bring benefits to all Poles. Get vaccinated today and help stop the infection from spreading!Western European countries are currently struggling with increasing numbers of COVID-19 infections. Poland has recently been recording slightly more than 100 cases per day. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed that the situation in Western Europe poses a risk to Poland. The COVID-19 pandemic has already shown time and time again that our advantage over the virus can be fragile and short-lived. A discussion on the current epidemic situation was held during the meeting of the Government Crisis Management Team. Importantly, preparations for a possible fourth wave of the pandemic were also summarised during its course. The Minister of Health announced that Poland is prepared for an increase in coronavirus infections. Nonetheless, vaccinations remain the most effective weapon in the fight against COVID-19. Do not hesitate and get vaccinated to protect both yourself and others!

29.07.2021Prime Minister: The Polish Deal is a common denominator for employees and entrepreneursThe Polish Deal is the government's response to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is also a great investment impulse for the next decades. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the Małopolskie Voivodeship. During his visit to the Wiśniowski company, Mr Morawiecki spoke about new solutions - such as a higher tax-free amount for everyone, as well as increasing the income tax threshold for the first time in 12 years. The Prime Minister stressed that as the Polish Deal is introduced, Poland’s economy enters a phase of intense development. “The Polish Deal is a proposal for Polish workers and entrepreneurs that we should sail together on the boat that is the Polish economy and achieve the highest speed possible”, he added.

29.07.2021Prime Minister: A beautiful bridge is being constructed on National Road No. 75 – in Kurów, near Nowy SączThe construction of Kurów’s new bridge over the Dunajec River is proceeding according to plan. Located at a section of National Road No. 75 between Nowy Sącz and Brzesko, this investment project is vital not only due to communication improvements but also because of its tourist and economic impact. The bridge construction project is entirely funded from the state budget, with its cost exceeding PLN 189 million. Additionally, the investment project includes altering the course of the National Road No. 75 itself.

27.07.2021Prime Minister: We are establishing a dedicated service to counteract cyber threats – the Central Cybercrime BureauOnline transfers, shopping and e-prescriptions have become commonplace, and our lives are becoming increasingly digitised. Unfortunately, this also results in more and more online threats. These days, new methods of online fraud appear virtually overnight. “To counteract fraud, theft and various types of attacks and cyber threats, we are establishing a service dedicated to such issues”, announced PM Mateusz Morawiecki. The new police unit – the Central Cybercrime Bureau – will be responsible for identifying, preventing and combating cyber threats.

26.07.2021Another meeting of the Medical Council – the government considers expert feedbackYet another videoconference meeting of the Medical Council took place on 26 July 2021, with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Health Minister Adam Niedzielski also attending. The topics discussed included accelerating the vaccination process, recommendations to consider compulsory vaccinations for medical staff and teachers, as well as counteracting the aggressive actions by anti-vaccination movements.

26.07.2021Prime Minister: Poland is turning into a serious competitor to Western European ports“The expansion of the container terminal in Gdańsk and increasing the transshipment capacity is a step towards setting up in Gdańsk the largest transshipment port in the Baltic Sea by far”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a conference held at the Port of Gdańsk. DTC Gdańsk – the largest container terminal in the Baltic Sea – plans to commence the construction of Baltic Hub Terminal 3 – its third quay and storage yard at the Port of Gdańsk. This investment project will make it possible for Poland to compete with such Western European ports as Hamburg and Rotterdam.

22.07.2021Government Fund for Local Investments covers nearly 50% of the funding needed to renovate the Białystok Drama TheatreThe Government Fund for Local Investments (GFLI) is a programme under which government funding is provided to local authorities all over Poland. The funding provided by the government can then be used for such projects as the renovation of the Aleksander Węgierko Drama Theatre in Białystok. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirmed that this financial support is non-repayable as it is provided under the COVID-19 Prevention Fund.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Polish Deal for agriculture is one of the core activities of the government.
