Renovation of schools, as well as the construction of kindergartens and new roads, are just some examples of investment projects that local governments can implement due to government funding. Thanks to the Government Fund for Local Investments and the Government Road Development Fund, Polish neighbourhoods are changing for the better. Further investment project funding is to be provided under the Polish Deal programme as well. During his visit to the Dolnośląskie and Małopolskie Voivodeships, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki inspected the sites where such new ventures are being implemented. The head of the Polish government also outlined the fundamentals of the Polish Deal Fund. “The Polish Deal and consolidated public finances not only bring money for major social and infrastructural programmes but also for the stabilisation and improvement of local government income”, he explained. Importantly, the investment project funding provided under the Polish Deal Fund will result in a 9.6% increase in local government income.

For years, the effective actions of our government have contributed to the improvement of local government units’ financial position. Increased local government income, new investment projects and income stabilisation are just some of the beneficial changes that will be brought about by the Polish Deal programme. During his visit to Lower Silesia, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented further details on the programme’s new solutions. Among them is the Polish Deal for Local Governments. The government will prepare an act under which PLN 8 billion will be transferred to Poland’s local governments for their next year’s expenses. All LGUs will receive support under the act and will be able to use the extra funding for investment projects improving the citizens’ quality of life, including road, schoolhouse and playground construction projects.

The government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki puts the family first. We have proved it more than once - for example by introducing the “Family 500+”, “Dobry Start” and “Maluch+” programs. The Polish Order scheme provides for further beneficial solutions available to families with children. The Council of Ministers has adopted the draft act on the Family Welfare Capital. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg, spoke about the benefits of the program during a family picnic in the Żabia Wola commune. As part of the program, parents will receive PLN 12 thousand for the second and subsequent children aged 12 to 36 months. Importantly, the extra money will be granted regardless of income. The program will come into effect on 1 January 2022.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Poland has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the European Union. This is thanks to the support provided to entrepreneurs by the Polish government. Under the Anti-Crisis Shield and Financial Shield initiatives, Polish companies received over PLN 237 billion. Our goal is to provide employment stability for employees and development opportunities for companies. This will be made possible by the Polish Deal – a comprehensive programme that all Poles will benefit from. The new solutions were introduced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit to the Dino company distribution centre and Auto Power Electronic company in the Opolskie Voivodeship.

The government makes every effort to improve the road infrastructure in Poland. “In the next couple of years, additional thousands of kilometres of roads will enhance driving comfort and boost development prospects for poviats and communes,” emphasised Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship to open another section of the Kępno ring road as part of expressway S11. New national and local roads improve investment possibilities for individual regions of our country. With this in mind, several days ago, the head of government announced the implementation of another programme that is vital to Poles – the 2030 Government Programme for the Construction of National Roads.

101 years ago, Poles fought a battle crucial not only for their country’s fate but also for the future of all of Europe. The Battle of Warsaw that halted the Bolsheviks’ march westwards and put paid to their plans to spread the revolution to Western Europe is deemed the 18th most breakthrough battle in the world’s history. To commemorate this special event, Poland celebrates the Armed Forces day on 15 August each year. On this occasion, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki took part in the ceremonies at Józef Piłsudski Square in Warsaw, as well as at the Marshall Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek, which had been established last year. However, this was not the only thing that made this year’s celebrations special. President Andrzej Duda signed an act on the reconstruction of the Saski Palace and the Brühl Palace, as well as the tenement houses at Warsaw’s Królewska Street. This investment project will restore Józef Piłsudski Square to its former glory.

The Polish Deal programme provides for supporting Polish families and farmers, among others. The government is working on laws that would enable citizens to purchase apartments without their own contribution, as well as to construct houses with no formalities, site managers and construction site logbooks. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki ensured the transfer of additional funding for agriculture as well. The Polish Deal means better prospects for the Polish countryside. The Council of Ministers has already adopted the bill on increasing the tax-exempt income amount from PLN 40,000 to PLN 100,000. Special insurance against natural disasters and animal diseases is yet another solution that will soon be introduced.

The government wants to make it possible for young families to obtain apartment loans without the need for their own contribution. Part of the Polish Deal programme, this solution is meant to help citizens with sufficient creditworthiness but without the required savings for such contribution. Such funding – up to PLN 100,000 – will be provided by Poland’s State Treasury. The state will also make a one-off repayment of a portion of the loan once the family has a child. This will make it possible to resolve the most crucial problem facing both large families and young couples – having one’s own apartment. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki discussed the government's proposal with representatives of the Family Council and the Large Family Association, among others.

Efficient road infrastructure is a foundation for rapid development. New local and national roads not only result in better driving comfort and improved safety but also constitute an opportunity for new jobs and investment projects. As such, the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is not slowing down in its road construction efforts. During his visit to the Podlaskie Voivodeship, Mr Morawiecki announced the implementation of the National Road Construction Programme 2030 – another initiative of utmost importance to Poles. The funds earmarked under the NRCP will enable the completion of Poland’s entire motorway and expressway network. In total, the planned investment projects amount to nearly 8,000 km of modern roads across the entire country! During his visit, the Prime Minister also took part in the opening of a section of the S61 – Via Baltica expressway.
