"Poland joins the Trillionaires' Club”: A Historic Entry into the World's Top 20 Economies
02.09.2025
The Prime Minister announced Poland's historic entry into the group of the world's 20 largest economies and a record increase in citizens' incomes. "And this is certainly not our last word,” assured Donald Tusk. He also announced, before the Cabinet meeting, that on Thursday he would take part in Paris in the meeting of the "coalition of the willing.” The meeting will concern further support for Ukraine. He recalled that the government had provided the President with recommendations on key issues for his talks in Washington, and that these remain in force.

Poland Among Economic Leaders
Today, the Prime Minister announced two significant pieces of information demonstrating the strength of the Polish economy – its value has already exceeded one trillion dollars.
“Poland has just now joined the very exclusive club of trillionaire countries. (…) There are 20 such countries in the world. Out of 195 states, 20 belong to this trillionaires’ club. And this is not our last word,” said Donald Tusk.
The second good news is the pace of Poland’s GDP growth, currently at 3.4 percent – one of the highest in Europe. These figures directly impact citizens’ lives. The head of government pointed to the rising real disposable income per capita (that is, the income available to Polish men and women).
“We are beating everyone hands down, and this has been the case since the end of 2023, in this period up to today. (…) This coincides almost exactly with the time of our government – that people’s wallets have filled with a record amount of money compared to all other developed countries,” said Donald Tusk.
He emphasized that the growth of citizens’ incomes in Poland outpaces the largest economies in Europe, including Germany, while in some countries, such as Sweden, these indicators are even negative.
Government Support for the President Ahead of his U.S. Visit
Donald Tusk also announced his participation in the upcoming meeting of the so-called “coalition of the willing,” which will take place this Thursday at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron. The coalition consists of 32 states coordinating their actions in support of Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
The Prime Minister also confirmed that the government had provided the President with recommendations on key topics for his upcoming talks in Washington, and that these remain valid.
“I sincerely keep my fingers crossed for the effectiveness of these relations. Of course, Poland’s security in its various aspects is absolutely key here,” said Prime Minister Donald Tusk, referring to the President’s upcoming visit to the United States.
The head of government added that he also expects favorable outcomes in economic matters (including tariffs), although the final agenda of the meeting rests with the presidents.
“One thing is certain – President Nawrocki knows exactly from us what Poland would expect from this visit,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
Poland’s key interests were clearly defined by the Council of Ministers in its position and conveyed to the head of state.
