A discussion on the current economic situation, identifying the most important challenges and methods to take advantage of opportunities for growth – these are the main topics of this year's 7th Polish Capital Congress with the participation of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The head of government indicated that business must be profitable but in a socially acceptable way. Therefore, we must on the one hand look for what is in line with society's needs and protects the environment. On the other hand, we must also look for what offers the opportunity for rapid growth.

Poland has an opportunity to be a strong link in rebuilding post-pandemic supply chains

– I think that Poland can be a beneficiary of the restoration of supply chains after the COVID-19 pandemic, following this certain globalisation trend that has emerged. This is a great opportunity, said the Prime Minister during his speech. For this to happen, he added, we need to be firmly involved in what is setting the modern global trends, the trends of modern capitalism, he continued. – We attract the best companies and their technology to Poland. This engages Polish small and medium-sized enterprises which grow and develop in the process, the head of government pointed out. As he stressed, if Polish entrepreneurs prospered and Polish capitalism was based on sound principles and socially acceptable and environmentally friendly foundations, Poland would develop.

The impact of aggressive Russian policies on the global economy

Discussing the economy, contemporary challenges and development, the Head of Government stressed that the current global crisis caused by, among other things, the Russian invasion of Ukraine must be taken into account. - Politics can define our entire reality in a very brutal and cruel way.
He also expressed the hope that not only would Ukraine defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, but that Russia would be punished for its brutal policies.
– I hope that in a couple of months, maybe a couple of quarters at the furthest, we will come out of this politically difficult time and we will be able to focus on what is this trend of the future, concluded Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
