Prime Minister in Raszyn: we are starting a great program of building multi-functional arched halls

22.06.2022

With government support, multi-purpose arched-roof halls will be built in rural and urban-rural communes. Thanks to them, the inhabitants of small localities will be able to play sports all year round. The government will allocate approximately PLN 80 million for this purpose. The launch of the construction of lightweight sports halls was announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Sport and Tourism Kamil Bortniczuk. The head of government stressed that the constriction of the halls is a great opportunity for many young people who want to take care of their health. About 1000 such places will be created throughout Poland.

Sports all year round – arch-roof halls to be built in small localities

The construction programme for lightweight sports halls is a chance for rural communes and rural areas or urban-rural communes gain the infrastructure that will allow them to play sports all year round. The government will allocate approximately PLN 80 million for this purpose.

“We are launching a major construction programme for arched-roof halls, which will be multi-purpose, to be erected in urban-rural and rural communes. Especially in places where currently there are no proper halls,” announced Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Raszyn. Sports halls are a chance to encourage children and young people to lead healthier and active lifestyles.

1000 halls across the country

Thanks to government funding, about 1000 halls will be created across the country in the coming years. “These will be halls for basketball, volleyball, football or tennis,” said the head of government.

“Already by the end of this year, we will build several dozen such halls. In the next year, we want to build 500 of these and in the following year – another 500. This is a new opportunity for millions of Poles, for millions of Polish children. It is a healthy lifestyle, sports achievements, passion, joy and excitement,” emphasised the Prime Minister.

“Smaller localities often see the birth of great athletes: Iga Świątek, Robert Lewandowski or Jakub Błaszczykowski before them. We want the young people living there not to be excluded from daily activation,” added Minister of Sport and Tourism Kamil Bortniczuk.
