The Head of the Polish Government has taken part in a conference devoted to cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine. Experts, representatives of state and EU institutions as well as companies from the energy, IT, transport and logistics industries were also present. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, during his speech, stressed that Poland will continue to help Ukraine, as it has done so far. He also raised the issue of multidimensional threats from Russia as well as the need to build a new security architecture.
Russian actions: a threat to all Europe
"But it is not enough to defeat Russia in this war, in the battles that are taking place today. To win this war, we need to rebuild the security architecture. This security architecture must be built on completely different paradigms in the fields of energy, economy, trade cooperation and financial cooperation”, said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister elaborated on how many non-military threats Russia poses to a democratic Europe today. He stressed that energy security was a priority, and unity and cooperation were the best response to Moscow's actions.
"Looking at the new security architecture that we must build together with Ukraine, we must lead to a deep reorientation of the entire energy policy," said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
The „Europe – Poland – Ukraine. Rebuild Together” Conference
The conference was aimed at strengthening relations between European, Polish and Ukrainian business circles and preparing a framework for cooperation in the future reconstruction of the state and economy of Ukraine. The conference presented Ukraine’s perspectives, needs and expectations as well as the scope for Polish business to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
"You have to realise that we are at a unique geopolitical curve today. [...] This is a completely new world for all political decision-makers”, stressed the Prime Minister.
Helping Ukraine is an opportunity for Poland
Polish participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine will be a great opportunity for the economy, particularly for the construction and transport industries. Investments in reconstruction are new horizons of development for Polish entrepreneurs. It is predicted that Polish involvement may lead to a noticeable increase in our country’s GDP.
”Victory is possible thanks to the support of people of good will, including entrepreneurs. We are fighting for more than just the survival of such a brave country as Ukraine. We are fighting for peace, not according to rules made by bandits, but based on partnership”, concluded Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
