21.12.2022
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki attended a pre-Christmas meeting with families with Minister Marlena Maląg. The head of the Polish government gave Christmas wishes to those present. He also thanked Polish families for opening their hearts and doors to refugees from Ukraine. The Prime Minister stressed that the security of Polish families is of fundamental importance for the government.
A time of peace and unity
We look forward to Christmas to spend as much time as possible with our families. The Prime Minister pointed out that this special time teaches everyone to respect one another.
In 2022, many Polish families opened their hearts and doors to refugees from Ukraine. The Prime Minister thanked us for showing solidarity. He stressed that this is also appreciated by the international community.
“I would, of course, like to wish that the coming period will be a time of peace. May it be so, but we know very well that we have a terrible war across our eastern border. That is why we must unite,” said the head of the Polish government. “We must come together at the Polish tables, but we need to also unite as a nation.”
The most important matters at Christmas
Christmas for the Christian religion is a time of miracles – it commemorates the birth of Jesus. But it is also a time of smaller miracles, miracles with a “lowercase m”. The Prime Minister stressed that it is precisely such small miracles that he wishes everyone during the coming festive season.
“What we so often manage to do is forget our conflicts a little at the Christmas table. Singing carols and talking to each other cools emotions – may it be so. And may this help us in this difficult coming year – may it be full of hope, full of goodness and love,” concluded the head of the Polish government.
