Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with permanent representatives of NATO member states

18.09.2023

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki spoke to NATO ambassadors about the situation in our region. The head of the Polish government stressed that Russia's barbaric attack on Ukraine is not just a local conflict. It has consequences that affect the whole world - such as the economic crisis that many countries are facing. NATO is the most powerful defence alliance in history. Poland and the Polish people can feel safe.

The strength of the united North Atlantic Alliance

The head of the Polish government stressed that NATO is now more united than ever. At the same time, it is the strongest defence alliance in history - an alliance of states that are ready to defend each other. The Prime Minister also invoked the words of Stefan Kisielewski, who pointed out that one must know how to show one's strength so that one does not have to use it.

We care about the security of Poland and Poles

Members of the North Atlantic Alliance in our region have committed to spending 2% of GDP on defence. Poland is a clear leader in this respect - this year we will allocate to it around 4% of GDP. More funds also mean modern equipment for our army and the possibility of increasing the size of the Polish Army. Our soldiers will use, among others, BWP BORSUK vehicles, K2 and Abrams tanks, HIMARS launchers and F-35A multirole aircraft. We make sure that Poland is safe.
