Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: People have the right to live and work where they want to
04.10.2023
We care about Polish employees and employers alike. We have established special economic zones that encourage investment in Poland. Thanks to such measures, unemployment is at a record low and the quality of life is steadily rising. Residents of small towns no longer have to leave their families behind in search of work. Recently, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited Melvit, a leading producer of flakes and cereal products on the Polish market, based near Ostrołęka. The company sources cereals from its own fields and local farmers.
We support Polish entrepreneurs
We do not leave entrepreneurs alone in times of crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic and Russian aggression against Ukraine caused economic turmoil in Poland and worldwide. The government decided to save jobs and supported Polish entrepreneurs by introducing the so-called shield programmes. As such, Poland now boasts the lowest level of unemployment in its history.
“Never in the history of Poland have there been so many people working at the same time — that is more than 17 million people, more than 17 million jobs that have been created. And the level of unemployment — based on recent European Commission figures — is one of the absolute lowest in the European Union”, said the head of the Polish government during his visit to Melvit.
We care about sustainable development throughout Poland
We are constantly developing special economic zones that drive business and entrepreneurship, not only in large cities. These solutions make it possible to establish companies that provide new jobs. More and more people can work locally without leaving their hometowns.
“For the entire economic infrastructure to go hand in hand with Polish businesses — and I emphasise, this is Polish capital — we are running an enormous investment programme to support economic zones. Various improvements, road construction, land development and, of course, tax relief,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Melvit — a producer of flakes and cereal products
Melvit has been providing jobs to the people of Ostrołęka and its surrounding areas for more than 25 years. A leading producer of flakes and cereal products on the Polish market, the company processes 40,000 tonnes of grain every year and may soon find itself at the top of the European charts.
“The success of this company based near Ostrołęka is incredible. I have seen how many countries around the world it sends its products to. It really makes the heart soar — from New Zealand to Australia to Asian countries, even Japan and America, and many European countries”, the Prime Minister stressed.
