29.07.2022

The head of the Polish government visited the revitalisation area of Philadelphia Boulevard (Bulwar Filadelfijski) in Toruń. A two-kilometre strip of the Vistula waterfront will be renovated with support from the Strategic Investment Programme in the amount of PLN 30 million. In addition, the Prime Minister saw the Józef Piłsudski Bridge whose expansion was completed this year. This was also made possible thanks to funds from the state budget.

Investments close to the people

Investments supported by the government must correspond to the needs of the inhabitants of individual regions. This is why the programmes are run in partnership with local governments that know local needs well.

Such cooperation makes it possible to implement projects that are close to the people. Examples include investment projects in Toruń: the Józef Piłsudski road bridge and the development of Philadelphia Boulevard.

Toruń investments

The Piłsudski Bridge is a historic facility whose expansion cost PLN 132 million, of which PLN 75 million came from the state budget. Modifications made, such as the separation of pedestrian and bicycle traffic, increase safety and comfort.

Traffic calming and easier access to the Old Town of Toruń is the aim of Philadelphia Boulevard’s revitalisation. The investment includes, among other things, cycle paths, a promenade and descents to the Vistula. Its total value is over PLN 46 million, 30 million of which comes from the Strategic Investment Programme.

Strategic Investment Programme

It involves tens of billions of zlotys for important investments across Poland. The Strategic Investment Programme envisages investment grants for municipalities and districts. This is money that every local government in Poland can use. Funds can be spent on roads, water supply systems, ecology, education of children and sports facilities.
