Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: We uphold the safety of the Polish people
22.06.2023
We allocate funds for local investments that are important to residents. We are striving to ensure that the state becomes ever closer to its citizens and meets their expectations. This can be seen, for example, in the availability of uniformed services in less populated areas of the country. We put the safety of Poles first, which is why we have already restored or created nearly 200 police stations.
Keeping Poles safe
The previous government closed more than half of the existing police stations in Poland. At the same time, borders were opened through which illegal immigration could flow. Our approach is different - we put the safety of Poles first. That is why we have already restored or created nearly 200 police stations.
“The government upholds the safety of citizens,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who visited the municipality of Brojce, where a new police station is being built. “The proximity of a constable or police officer is a prerequisite for safety for residents. This is something that is of great importance to us,” he added.
As the Prime Minister pointed out, thanks to the government's well-thought-out policy on safety, almost all Poles declare in surveys that they feel safe in their neighbourhood.
Investment in security
We are consistently investing in local uniformed services, rebuilding police stations, investing in Volunteer Fire Services and subsidising the State Fire Service. Thanks to this, Poland is growing closer to its citizens.
In order to ensure adequate funding and equipment for the uniformed services, we are implementing the “Programme for Modernisation of the Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service and State Protection Service in 2022-2025”. Thanks to the programme, more than PLN 10 billion will go to the four services subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.
Brojce Police Station
A new police station is being built in Brojce. The unit will be reinstated after many years of absence in this village. The investment is being made under the “Programme for Modernisation of the Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service and State Protection Service in 2022-2025”, at an amount of approximately PLN 3 million. The planned completion date is 30 November 2023.
