The short names of infrastructure programmes cloak hundreds of kilometres of new roads in the entire Poland. They not only enable us to travel efficiently and safely, but also constitute a driving force for the development of local entrepreneurship – a chance for investments and new jobs in such towns as Miechów.

S7 – the longest road in Poland

The construction of national road S7, along the section from Moczydło to Miechów, is among many investments aimed at creating a fast and safe road connecting the northern and southern part of the country.

It is a great bridge that connects Poland, running from the sea to the Tatra mountains, from Gdansk to Rabka. It will ultimately become the longest expressway that exceeds 700 kilometres in length – the Prime Minister emphasised.

The longest fast highway in Poland is also a part of European road E77. It connects Gdansk with the Polish-Slovak border in Chyżne. The total length of the route will reach 706 km.

Road and highway development programme

As a result of intensified works of the government, investments in Polish national roads are gaining momentum. Since 2015, the Polish network of expressways and highways has increased by over 40 percent. In addition, we have also completed the construction of approximately 1,450 km of safe and convenient roads, worth over PLN 50 billion.

Currently, over 100 investments in 1,450 km of roads, with a total value of PLN 70 billion, are being carried out. It is a good time for the Polish infrastructure. Any person travelling on our roads can see it.

The Government Road Development programme provides additional support to self-governments, helping them construct, reconstruct and renovate local and municipal roads. The aid from the government may cover as much as 80 percent of the value of the whole investment. The programme has resulted in the completion of investments covering 14.3 thousand local and municipal roads. The fund makes it possible to finance years-long investments that had previously been postponed by self-governments.

In addition, thanks to the 100 Bypass Construction Programme, we will build 100 bypasses with a total length of 820 km. Fourteen bypasses worth PLN 2.5 billion, with a total length of almost 110 km, are already under construction, and the next ones are in preparation.

Perspectives for new investments in Lesser Poland

- An excellent space for investments is currently emerging north of Krakow. It is the result of the Polish Order, which operates in a similar way to gear wheels. Certain infrastructural investments imply others: a new entrepreneur arrives and creates new jobs, which results in the emergence of a demand for new schools and university programmes – said Mateusz Morawiecki. And he added: this creates additional flywheels for the development of the economy and help raise the standard of life of Polish people.

During his visit to the Świętokrzyskie voivodeship, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the area of the future Technological Park in the Miechów Starosty. The surface area of future investment grounds with access to necessary water recirculation systems, sewage collection systems and electrical installations extends over nearly 100 ha.

The entire area of the Technological Park has been divided into three zones, taking into account the diverse needs of future investors. In addition, the Park will be located close to one of main arterial roads in Poland, national road S7. – Today, we cannot imagine modern economic development without expressways as well as local, municipal and provincial roads which supply them with economic blood. – the head of the government emphasised.
