Świdnica: Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on the government’s continued efforts for entrepreneurs
29.09.2023
We care about both employees and employers. The solutions implemented so far, which concern special economic zones, encourage both Polish and foreign companies to invest in our country. Thanks to this, unemployment is low, and the quality of life is steadily increasing. The Polish Prime Minister visited Diora – Świdnica, a company manufacturing professional loudspeaker cabinets. The company’s headquarters is located in Europe’s largest economic zone – the WSEZ INVEST-PARK.
Expansion of investment areas nationwide – an opportunity to work where you live
The government is investing in economic zones all over Poland. This is attracting Polish and foreign companies. The result will be a flourishing of the localities and the creation of new jobs. More and more people will have the opportunity to work locally without leaving their home municipality, and employers wanting to find a well-qualified employee will have to raise wages.
“Our great plan, going forward, is for plants such as Diora-Świdnica and new investments by Polish and foreign entrepreneurs to be established in smaller and medium-sized towns,” declared the Prime Minister.
Thanks to the government’s actions, we have the lowest unemployment in the history of the Third Polish Republic and the highest level of employment, with more than 17 million people working in various sectors of the economy.
Support for entrepreneurs – lower taxes and easier accounting for companies
In times of global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic or the war in Ukraine and their consequences, we do not leave entrepreneurs to their own devices. We have introduced solutions that make it easier to run and grow businesses. These include:
- Small ZUS Plus
Small companies pay lower social security contributions, depending on the amount of income received the year before. Entrepreneurs whose income for the previous year did not exceed PLN 120,000 benefit from this solution.
- Reduction of CIT to 9%
We support smaller entrepreneurs – for them, we reduced corporate income tax from 19% to 15% and then from 15% to 9%.
- Easier VAT deduction
Entrepreneurs benefit from easier and more flexible VAT deductions. We have introduced numerous tax preferences for corporate income tax and personal income tax, an expansion allowance, for example.
Diora – Świdnica Sp. z o.o.
One of Europe’s largest manufacturers of professional loudspeaker cabinets has its headquarters in Świdnica, in Europe’s largest economic zone, the WSEZ INVEST-PARK. The company’s location is an excellent logistical solution. The A4 motorway and the international airport are nearby.
The Prime Minister recalled the company’s history, which was one of Poland’s export brands during the communist era. In the early 1990s, Dior’s subsidiaries went bankrupt. Today, the company, thanks to the support of the Industrial Development Agency, is being revived.
“After years, here in Świdnica, Diora is beginning to regain its former glory. Primarily because the Industrial Development Agency believed in the Diora-Swidnica plan; it invested capital, and the invested capital was used to purchase new machines, employ people and today, what I have seen here – super-precise work – is best demonstrated by the fact that over 95% of all production goes for export,” concluded the Polish Prime Minister.
