How much is the charge for exchange of the Geneva travel document?

The Geneva travel document is free of charge.

How and when should I submit the application for exchange of the Temporary Foreigner’s ID?

The application for exchange of the Temporary Foreigner’s ID may be submitted not sooner than two weeks before expiry of the document. Submit the filled in application with a photo in person in the registry office in the Office (33 Taborowa Street) or send via post to the address of the Office.

My residence card expires after more than one month. Can I already submit an application for exchange of the document?

The applications for exchange of a residence card should be submitted a month before expiry of the documents. The application submitted prematurely will be refused, if there are no reasons for exchange of the document other than expiry. The above information apply also to the Geneva travel document.

Can I obtain the information whether my document is ready to be collected or about formal irregularities in my application for issuance of exchange of the document by phone?

No, in such cases, in accordance with a valid Regulation concerning personal data, employees of the Office may not provide by phone the information concerning the given person. In order to obtain such information it is necessary to come in person or send a letter via post.

Can the confirmation of payment for an exchange of a residence card be provided when receiving the document?

No, confirmation of the payment must be provided along with the application for exchange of a residence card or, possible after being called upon to supplement the formal irregularities.

I have received the decision on granting subsidiary protection. Can I also submit an application for the Geneva travel document aside from the application for a residence card?

Persons who were granted subsidiary protection are not entitled for the Geneva travel document. If such an application is submitted it will be refused.

How long after submitting an application for issuance of the first documents (residence card and the Geneva travel document) can I report to have my fingerprints taken?

After submitting an application in the registry office or sending it via post, report to the reception office of the Office (33 Taborowa Street) after 7 days from submitting the application or from the day of confirmation of servicing the application to the Office, if you have sent it via post.

How can I receive the Temporary Foreigner’s ID?

The Temporary Foreigner’s ID (TZTC) is sent by post to the address stated in the application.

What is the present course of the procedure for exchange of a residence card or the Geneva travel document?

In order to exchange the document, it is necessary to fill in an appropriate application, attach the documents needed and submit it in person in a registry office or send by post to the Office.
Following verification of the application, a summon to appear will be sent to the stated correspondence address in order to submit fingerprints and for the purpose of supplementing of any possible formal irregularities. The envisaged term for realisation of the document amounts to two weeks from the date of submitting the fingerprints and supplementing other formal irregularities. After that period it is necessary to come in person to receive the document.

How much is the charge for losing a residence card?

The charge for an exchange of a residence card due to a reported loss or destruction of the document amounts to PLN 100.

I have children, who are not yet 18 years old, are they to come with me to have fingerprints taken?

Persons who are older than 6 years of age are obliged to submit their finger prints.

Can I receive a document for my wife, or is she to come in person?

Documents are to be received in person, as, at the receipt, fingerprints are taken for verification purposes.

At what time should I come to have my fingerprints taken?

To have your fingerprints taken, please come in person to the reception office at 33 Taborowa street in  Warsaw (counter no. 3) within working hours of the aforementioned office, i.e. Monday-Tuesday 10:00-12:00 and Thursday-Friday 10:00-12:00.

What documents should be attached to the application for a residence card?

The application for exchange of a resident card should be accompanied by two current photos, confirmation of payment for issuing of a residence card in the amount of PLN 50 and a current certificate of a registered residence for the period of minimum 2 months.

How and when should I to submit the application for exchange of documents, i.e. the residence card and the Geneva travel documents?

The applications for those documents should be submitted at least preferably a month before expiry of the documents. Send them by post to the Office: ul. Taborowa 33, 02-699 Warsaw or submit in person in a submitting office at ul. Taborowa 33, Warsaw (from Monday to Friday, between 8:15-16:15).
