Will I get help if I need to get a denture?
To get help with getting a denture, you should go to the Medical Point at the Centre for Foreigners or at the Foreigners Service Team (in Warsaw at 16 Taborowa Street) to get a referral. The medical staff will tell you where and when to visit. In the case of people living in privately outside the Centre for Foreigners who do not have the opportunity to go to the Medical Point at the Centre for Foreigners or at the Foreigners Service Team, the date and place of the dental visit should be arranged with the consultant of the PETRA MEDICA Medical Operator Helpline (tel. no. 22 112 02 06) from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Will I get every dental service as part of the benefits I am entitled to?
Not all dental services are covered by medical benefits. The doctor at the Centre for Foreigners or the Foreigners Service Team (in Warsaw at 16 Taborowa Street) will inform you about the scope of dental treatment you are entitled to. The medical staff will indicate the place and date of the visit. In the case of people living in private homes and not being able to go to the Medical Point at the Centre for Foreigners or the Foreigners Service Team, the date and place of the dental visit should be arranged with the consultant of the PETRA MEDICA Medical Operator Helpline (tel. no. 22 112 02 06) from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 18:00.
What is the waiting time for a visit to the dentist?
Patients with pain (requiring immediate intervention) are admitted immediately, while the planned visits are realised in accordance with the determined schedule.
Can I use dental treatment?
You should obtain an admission order to a dentist from the doctor of the centre of the Foreigners Service Team. Medical personnel determines the date and place of the visit with the medical operator Petra Medica. In the case of persons living independently within the country, the date and place of the dental visit should be determined with a consultant of a helpline of Petra Medica at the phone number: 22 112 02 06 from Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 16.00.
A specialised doctor prescribed me with rehabilitation treatments. How can I use them?

Am I insured when applying for international protection?
People applying for international protection are entitled to medical assistance, provided under the Act of 13 June 2003 on granting protection to foreigners on the territory of the Republic of Poland, by the Head of the Office for Foreigners. However, they are not insured persons within the meaning of the regulations on compulsory or voluntary health insurance under the Act of 27 August 2004 on health care services financed from public funds.
What should I do if I receive an invoice for a hospital treatment?
It is necessary to remember that foreigners being subject to the procedure for granting international protection do not sustain healthcare costs.
In the case of getting an invoice in your name (e.g. from hospital), it is necessary to immediately report to the employees of the centre or contact PETRA MEDICA.
How do I get the medicines prescribed by a doctor if I live in Poland and use private services?
Foreigners living privately in the country, receiving services by postal order, can get the medicines prescribed by a doctor by:
a) sending the prescription by e-mail to: zamowienia@petramedica.pl or fax no. 22 740 01 51. The following information should be provided in the message: first name, last name, contact phone number, exact address of residence to which the medicines will be sent. The order processing time depends on the availability of medicines in the cooperating network of wholesalers and pharmacies,
b) purchasing prescription medicines in any pharmacy and then applying for a refund for the purchased medicines. In order to receive a refund for the purchase of medicines, send by post to: PETRA MEDICA Sp. z o.o. ul. Grochowska 166, 04-329 Warsaw, the following documents:
- an application requesting a refund for the purchase of medicines containing personal data (name, surname, address, telephone number),
- a photocopy of the prescription,
- an invoice for the purchased medicines consistent with the presented prescription, issued to the purchaser's data: (name, surname and address of the foreigner) and to the payer's data (PETRA MEDICA Sp. z o.o. ul. Grochowska 166, 04-329 Warsaw, NIP 113 24 63 074),
- a copy of the identity document.
The refund for the purchase of medicines made by postal order is possible only after receiving a complete set of documents.

Where can I get medical help in case of sudden illness outside the working hours of the mentioned facilities?
In the case of sudden illness or a sudden decline of health condition within working days from 18:00 to 8:00 of the next day, and a whole day on Saturdays and Sundays and other statutory holidays, medical services are provided in the form of night and holiday healthcare in common medical facilities within the whole country. Night and holiday healthcare services are free of charge and provided without admission order. A list of different night and holiday healthcare facilities by a place of residence are available on a website www.petramedica.pl and on websites of regional branches of the National Health Fund. In the case of a sudden serious life and health risk, requiring immediate medical services, foreigners use the National System of the Emergency Medical Service common within the territory of the Republic of Poland. To call for a team of the National Emergency Medical Service, call the emergency number of 999 or 112.
Where can I use healthcare?
Healthcare is provided in medical ambulatories of the centres for foreigners and in the Foreigners Service Team, ul. Taborowa 33, Warsaw. The foreigners using social assistance benefits outside the centre use healthcare provided in medical ambulatories located in the centres for foreigners and in the Foreigner Service Centre or in medical facilities of the Operator or other indicated by it.
What is the scope of medical benefits I am entitled for?
You are entitled to medical and psychological services in particular within the scope of: specialist care, including obligatory vaccinations of children in accordance with the vaccination calendar basic medical care including mandatory vaccinations for children in accordance with the vaccination schedule, specialist medical care (consultations and specialist examinations, hospital treatment, care and nursing benefits under long-term care,, dental treatment, Emergency Medical Service in the out-hospital setting.

Am I entitled to healthcare when applying for granting international protection within the territory of the Republic of Poland?
Submitting an application for international protection alone does not entitle you to use medical care provided by the Head of the Office for Foreigners. You are entitled to medical care from the day you report to the Centre for Foreigners or submit an application for social assistance in the form of a cash benefit to cover your own costs of stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland. The following persons are excluded from the entitlement to free medical care provided to persons applying for international protection:
- benefit from subsidiary protection,
- are staying in the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a residence permit for humanitarian reasons or a permit for tolerated stay,
- are staying in the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit or long-term EU resident's residence permit,
- are staying in a guarded centre or detention centre for foreigners,
- are temporarily arrested or serving a prison sentence.
