United Kingdom nationals and their families who are beneficiaries of the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement can continue to apply for a residence permit containing an endorsement referring to the Withdrawal Agreement (if they have not already done so). Having such a document is beneficial as it will exempt from future Entry/Exit System (EES) registration when crossing external borders and from the need to obtain an ETIAS travel permit in relation to short-term travel to EU/Schengen countries.

In connection with the upcoming recruitment to schools, the Office for Foreigners has prepared an updated information on the education of children of foreigners. The material is available in ten language versions.

The survey can be completed online and anonymously by persons displaced from Ukraine. It is available in Ukrainian, Russian and English.

Foreigners service point at the office at Taborowa 33 will be open on Mondays from: 8.00 - 18.00.

As of 31 July 2023, the special arrangements for foreigners introduced in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic will cease to apply. This is a consequence of the cancellation of the state of epidemic emergency on the territory of Poland.

One of the requirements for granting a residence permit for a long-term resident of the European Union is that the foreigner must have a confirmed command of the Polish language. New regulations in this regard have been in force since 24 June.

European Union Agency for Asylum has launched an educational campaign called #GetitRight with the goal of explaining to the general public several themes related to the Agency’s mandate.

The temporary protection mechanism, implemented by the EU Council's decision in March 2022 initially for one year, was extended until March 4, 2024. As a result, the validity of the certificates of temporary protection issued so far, will also be extended alike.

On 7 April 2023, an amendment to the Act on Foreigners and certain other laws will enter into force (with the exception of certain regulations entering into force at later dates). Among others, the new regulations adapt the national law to the changes within the EU in the Schengen Information System and modify the existing competences of the Head of the Office for Foreigners.
