12.10.2021Meeting of representatives of Visegrad Group member states and EgyptOn 11 October 2021, a Polish delegation headed by Minister Mariusz Błaszczak took part in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group member states with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry. Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk also attended the meeting. The political consultations between the V4 and Egypt were organised in Budapest by the current Hungarian Presidency.

11.10.2021Statement by Polish MFA on EU’s adoption of sanctions against RussiaOn 11 October 2021, the Council of the European Union adopted restrictive measures against eight individuals in connection with activities that undermine the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Included on the sanctions list are Russian judges, prosecutors and services personnel responsible for issuing illegal and politically motivated decisions targeting opponents of the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation. The Council’s decision is a manifestation of the unity and consistent policy of the European Union.

Organised as a video conference by Estonia with the support of thirty-one countries including Poland, the meeting was chaired by Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Eva-Maria Liimets.

Moreover, speaking at the anniversary session of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC), the deputy head of the Polish MFA highlighted the role the DAC plays in setting global standards of development cooperation, which are then implemented by donors of development assistance all over the world.
