Somali non-governmental organisation the Elman Peace and Human Rights Centre (EPHRC) has been awarded the Pro Dignitate Humana 2020 prize. One of the organisation’s most important achievements is successfully counteracting radicalisation and brutal religious extremism.

“The fundamental issue now is that the Belarusian authorities should embark on a genuine dialogue with representatives of a broad spectrum of Belarusian society to resolve the country’s current acute political crisis,” said the chief of Polish diplomacy during a meeting with Belarusian activists involved in initiating democratic change in Belarus.

Jacek Czaputowicz held telephone calls with representatives of Albania, Slovakia and Sweden – countries that currently make up the OSCE Troika – to talk about the situation in Belarus.

“I hope that the memorandum will allow us to bring direct help to persecuted religious groups, Christians in particular, as well as all other denominations. We will support them and act to raise global awareness of the growing scale of violations of a fundamental human right: the right to freedom of religion and belief,” said Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński in Budapest.

“The future of Belarus is in the hands of its citizens,” said Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during his today’s phone talk with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the icon of fight for a democratic change in Belarus. The chief of Polish diplomacy informed her about the main parameters of Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s “Solidarity with Belarus” plan announced on Friday, 14 August.

On 14 August 2020, in a phone talk with Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan explained the reasons behind his country’s decision to establish diplomatic relations with the state of Israel. Emirati foreign minister also underlined that halting Israeli annexation plans of the West Bank and returning to talks on the two-state option remain among the priorities of United Arab Emirates.
