    Piotr Wilczek, Polish Ambassador to the USA, won this year’s edition of the Amicus Oeconomiae award. It is granted to Polish diplomats for outstanding contribution to promoting the Polish economy and supporting Polish entrepreneurs abroad. Also honoured were Polish Ambassador in Beijing Wojciech Zajączkowski and Consul General in Cologne Jakub Wawrzyniak. The award, in the form of a commemorative statuette, was presented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof. Zbigniew Rau during today’s ceremony which was an opportunity to sum up the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the area of economic diplomacy. The meeting was also attended by Andrzej Gut-Mostowy, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology, and Grażyna Ciurzyńska, acting President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Polish Television (TVP) will work together to seek new methods and opportunities for promoting Polish culture and the country’s image abroad. According to a letter of intent signed in Warsaw on Thursday, 3 December, by Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk and Mateusz Matyszkowicz, a member of the TVP management board, the two institutions will take joint action to improve the positive image of Poles and Poland in foreign countries.
