“The Polish community expects the authorities to lend more support to the teaching of the Polish language among the Polish minority in Germany,” Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said after his meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas in Berlin.

A meeting with chief of German diplomacy Heiko Maas and a speech during the Weimar Transatlantic Forum will be the highlights of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz’s visit to Berlin on 25-26 November 2019.

The future financial architecture for development and neighbourhood and the EU’s support for African countries in transition were the main topics discussed at the Foreign Affairs Council meeting on Monday attended by Undersecretary of State at the MFA Marcin Przydacz.

“An ambitious budget for cohesion policy and the Common Agricultural Policy are key challenges facing us. Current priorities cannot be replaced with new ones,” said Minister Konrad Szymański during a meeting with Minister for European Affairs of the Italian Republic Vincenzo Amendola.

“The transatlantic ties are key to NATO’s credibility and strength. At the same time, we should develop the European defence capabilities, because we agree that the European allies can contribute to collective security in a better way,” said Minister Czaputowicz at a meeting of NATO’s ministers of foreign affairs.

“We have a unique opportunity for an in-depth and sincere discussion on the painful past, but most of all, on what we can do today, what challenges we are facing, what kind of truth we will pass to the next generations,“ said Secretary of State Szynkowski vel Sęk opening a seminar in Palmiry near Warsaw. The objective of the event was to promote activities undertaken to commemorate the site and victims of Nazi concentration camp in Gusen.

The head of Polish diplomacy Jacek Czaputowicz will take part in the autumn session of NATO ministers of foreign affairs that will be held on 20 November 2019 in Brussels.

“From the moment of establishing diplomatic relations 29 years ago, Poland and Oman have maintained friendly relations which we would like to intensify in the nearest future by increasing the frequency of political contacts and invigorating the economic exchange,” said Deputy Minister Maciej Lang during a meeting with Omani Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al-Harithy.

“Poland has traditionally been interested in and committed to the promotion and protection of the rights of the child both internationally – at the UN, the Council of Europe and the European Union – and nationally,” emphasised Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcin Przydacz launching the 13th Warsaw Seminar titled “Rights of the Child in the Light of the European Convention on Human Rights.”

On 20 November at the 40th Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris Poland was elected a member of UNESCO’s Executive Board. Other newly elected states from our electoral group are: Russia, Serbia and Hungary.
