Bilateral relations and cooperation in international organisations were the main topics discussed during a meeting today between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Poland Siti Nugraha Mauludiah.

On Poland’s initiative, with the support of the United Kingdom, on 20 June, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted its first-ever resolution on the protection of persons with disabilities in armed conflict. The adoption of the resolution helps consolidate Poland’s position as a leading country in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities at the forum of the UN.

Political and economic cooperation, and security in the Middle East were the main topics of Polish-Bahraini political consultations co-chaired by Deputy Minister Maciej Lang and Deputy Foreign Minister of Bahrain Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa in Manama.

“Poland’s vision of the European Union is bold and optimistic, while at the same time realistic. We are advocating a strong, democratic, efficient Union that will provide prosperity to its citizens and will effectively counteract threats inside and outside of the EU,” said the chief of Polish diplomacy during his lecture today at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Promotion of economic cooperation in the Black Sea region, the development of transport corridors and joint environmental protection activities were the main topics of a conference on cooperation between the European Union and the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), which took place in Brussels.

“Poland supports a strong and common EU foreign policy, by which we mean one that takes into account the interests of all Member States,” said the chief of Polish diplomacy at today’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting.

The third edition of the seminar, which was formerly called “Reconciliation and Remembrance”, starts on 16 June. In this project, we focus on presenting various aspects of the relations between Poland and Germany in the light of achievements and challenges in the reconciliation process between two nations. The aim of the discussions and workshops is to inspire young people to overcome divisions in order to build a common European future.

Warsaw is hosting, for the sixth time, representatives of the Governing Council of the Community of Democracies. The 30th session of the Governing Council of the Community of Democracies was opened by Deputy Foreign Minister Konrad Szymański.

On Monday, 17 June, the foreign minister will take part in a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg. The following day, he will visit Berlin, where he will deliver a lecture at the Humboldt University.

“The United Nations and the League of Arab States must join their forces to find the way to strengthen peace and stability in the Middle East through synergy,” said Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during a UN Security Council briefing on cooperation of UN and the League of Arab States.
