Today, the head of Polish diplomacy met with the Republic of Estonia’s former President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and the Republic of Lithuania’s former Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis. The two officials currently serve as high-level rapporteurs of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), also known as “Wise Persons,” appointed to draw up a report on the future of the Council.

A tenth round of Polish–Brazilian political consultations was held at the Polish MFA, hosted by Undersecretary of State Jakub Wiśniewski. The Brazilian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Luisa Escorel de Moraes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that on 20 March 2025 the Republic of Poland established diplomatic and consular relations with the Cook Islands by exchange of notes.

Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski held political consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Ma Zhaoxu. Afterwards, Deputy Minister Ma Zhaoxu exchanged courtesies with the head of Polish diplomacy Radosław Sikorski.

On 18 March, General Affairs Council (GAC) adopted a regulation on establishing the Reform and Growth Facility for the Republic of Moldova. This instrument will become the financial pillar of the Moldova Growth Plan—the largest EU financial support package since Moldova’s independence.

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and in Syria, Iran, and EU-US relations were the main points of a Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting in Brussels on Monday. The session was chaired by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

On 16–17 March, Deputy Minister Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef visited North Rhine-Westphalia. She took part in a ceremony honouring the first Polish queen, Richeza of Lotharingia, held on Sunday in the Cologne Cathedral.

As part of the ongoing Polish Presidency of the EU Council, Poland’s top diplomat Radosław Sikorski represented the EU at the Ministerial Partnership Dialogue between the European Union and the Southern African Development Community. The event was held on 15 March in Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare.

On Friday, 14 March, an informal meeting of the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA) was held in Warsaw. It was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of Poland’s Presidency of the EU Council. The meeting was inaugurated by MFA’s Undersecretary of State Marek Prawda, who is responsible for the EU’s enlargement and neighbourhood policies.

Minister Radosław Sikorski met with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár. Today’s consultations covered reinforcement of bilateral ties, prospects for cooperation in Central Europe, security situation in Europe, and transatlantic relations, among other topics.
