As we approach Christmas, Poland’s top diplomat Radosław Sikorski met today in the Krasiński Palace with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Poland. The event was also attended by the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Antonio Guido Filipazzi, as the dean of the diplomatic corps in Poland.

On 12 December 2024, Berlin hosted a meeting of foreign ministers of Poland, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain (EU Big Five), their counterparts from the United Kingdom and Ukraine, and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The ministerial was held to follow up with the talks initiated in Warsaw on 19 November.

On 9–12 December, Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski paid working visits to India and Vietnam.

Another edition of the “Remembrance, Understanding, Future” seminar is due to start on 10 December 2024. Representatives of the young generation from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, as well as from Poland and Germany will attend the meeting in Krzyżowa and Wrocław.

On 9 and 10 December 2024 in Warsaw, in view of Poland’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union, Undersecretary of State at the Polish MFA Marek Prawda and Undersecretary of State for the EU at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka hosted secretaries of state and secretaries general for the EU from EU member states. The meeting was co-hosted by Secretary-General of the European External Action Service Stefano Sannino.

The meeting in Warsaw today between Minister Radosław Sikorski and his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed Ali Nafti, was the first one between the foreign ministers of the two countries in seven years. It came in a year that marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Tunisia.

A meeting with representatives of the Danish MFA and the participation in a conference of three successive presidencies (a trio of Poland, Denmark, and Cyprus) were the major points of Deputy Minister Prawda׳s visit to Copenhagen on 5–6 December 2024.

The Foreign Ministers of the Weimar Triangle regret the decision by the ruling Georgian Dream party not to pursue EU accession talks and to reject EU financial support until 2028 which glaringly contradicts the European aspirations of the Georgian people as enshrined in the Constitution of Georgia.

Holding the line of objection to Russia’s blackmail, a policy initiated by the Polish Chairpersonship in 2022, was the main goal of the Polish foreign minister’s participation in the 31st Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe held in Malta.
