Consultations between Poland’s chief diplomat Radosław Sikorski and his Icelandic counterpart Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir took place in Warsaw today.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau: a place which became a symbol of unimaginable human suffering and barbarity.

The theme of the Forum was “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age”.

On 24 January, Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski held consultations with the German Bundesrat President Anke Rehlinger.

Today, the annual Conference of the Regional and Local Authorities for the Eastern Partnership (CORLEAP) was held in Rzeszów. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Undersecretary of State Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef. The conference was devoted to the future of the Eastern Partnership, a project co-initiated by Minister Radosław Sikorski.

On 21 January, MFA Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski attended a Brussels-based Holocaust Remembrance Conference “Remembering the past. Shaping the future”, marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

We continue to encourage Poles living abroad to return to Poland and support the country with their competence. As a reminder, unless they have renounced their Polish citizenship, all Poles are entitled to a Polish passport, and to repatriate themselves and settle freely in Poland.

Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski has officially opened new premises of the Polish diplomatic mission in Germany’s capital. The Embassy is now located in a prime site of Berlin, at no more than 300 metres from the Brandenburg Gate.

Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski met with Abdulaziz Kamilov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Affairs and former long-serving head of Uzbekistani diplomacy.
