In 2025, Poland holds a one-year presidency of the Community of Democracies, a global intergovernmental coalition of countries whose main goal is to promote democratic principles and standards worldwide.

On 15 January 2025, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Henryka Mościcka-Dendys attended a meeting of the Advisory Legal Committee of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The committee members continued their discussion on proposals for amendments to the International Agreements Act of 14 April 2000.

During the official visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the Office of the Prime Minister, a ceremony was held today to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The document was signed by MFA Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski and, on the Vietnamese side, by Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang.

On 15 January 2025, MFA Undersecretary of State Jakub Wiśniewski received the Ambassador of the United States to Poland, Mark Brzeziński, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on new US legislation devised to control the export of advanced chips.

On 12 December 2024, President Joe Biden signed an act in honour of 60 diplomats from 28 countries, including five from Poland, who were rescuing Jews from persecution by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

Enlargement policy of the European Union as a priority of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council was the main focus of the talks between the head of Polish diplomacy and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, which were held in Warsaw.

Today, on 8 January, Polish Ambassador to Russia Krzysztof Krajewski has attended a closing ceremony of the consular post of the Republic of Poland in Saint Petersburg.

The event, held at the initiative of the head of Polish diplomacy, was aimed at presenting MFA’s priorities and activities during Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Today, Minister Radosław Sikorski took part in the Ambassadors' Conference of the French Republic, held in Paris. As part of the Conference, he met with Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.
