03.09.2024Minister Radosław Sikorski visits MalaysiaOn the second day of his visit to Asia, the head of Polish diplomacy is staying in Kuala Lumpur, where he met with Malaysia’s highest authorities: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamad Hasan, and Minister of Defence Mohamed Khaled Nordin. The next day, Minister Sikorski will visit the Philippines, the last country on the foreign minister’s itinerary for Asia.

03.09.2024Undersecretary of State Jakub Wiśniewski takes part in Bled Strategic ForumDeputy Minister Jakub Wiśniewski represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Bled Strategic Forum international conference on 2–3 September. The event was organised by Slovenia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Centre for European Perspective, a Slovenian governmental organisation founded in 2006.

02.09.2024Minister Sikorski’s lecture at the International Institute for Strategic StudiesWhile in Singapore, Minister Sikorski gave a lecture on Europe: Confronting 21st Century Imperialism at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, which is a renowned authority on global security, political risk, and military conflicts. In his speech, he mainly focused on the colonial and imperial nature of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

02.09.2024Minister Radosław Sikorski starts four-day visit to AsiaOn the first day of his visit, Poland’s top diplomat arrived in Singapore to meet the country’s top authorities: Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean. He will then travel to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and to Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

On the sidelines of the session, the ministers met with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

13.08.2024Deputy Minister Bartoszewski meets with Indonesian MFA’s Director General for American and European AffairsToday, at the Polish MFA, Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski hosted a meeting with Umar Hadi, Director General for American and European Affairs at Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Discussed were the current bilateral relations, including political, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as threats to peace and security in Europe and the Middle East.

09.08.2024Agreement on competition for Polish Youth Delegate to UN General Assembly session signedToday, at the MFA headquarters, Deputy Ministers Jakub Wiśniewski and Marek Krawczyk, undersecretary of state in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and deputy chair of the Public Benefit Committee, signed an Agreement on cooperation in the organisation of the competition for the Polish Youth Delegate 2025/2026 to the 80th UN General Assembly session. The competition will be announced on the Public Benefit Committee website before 1 October 2024.

09.08.2024Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski visits JapanDeputy Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski visited Japan on 6–9 August 2024. The minister met with the Japanese government’s representatives: Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yoichi Fukazawa, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Hideki Murai, in charge of Ukraine’s reconstruction, and board members of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The agenda included future development of the Poland–Japan strategic partnership, established in 2015, Polish–Japanese cooperation in regard to rebuilding Ukraine, and the global political and security situation.

08.08.2024Undersecretary of State Jakub Wiśniewski meets Danish State Secretary for Development Policy Lotte MachonThe talks between Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Jakub Wiśniewski and State Secretary for Development Policy Lotte Machon of the Kingdom of Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs centred on the priorities of the Polish and Danish presidencies with respect to development cooperation and humanitarian aid. Poland and Denmark will consecutively hold Council of the EU presidencies in 2025.
