On 24-25 November 2022, Head of the Foreign Service Arkady Rzegocki travelled to Austria. The aim of the visit was to hold consultations at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to discuss personnel and organisational issues with representatives of international organisations seated in Vienna.

Poland deeply deplores the recent terror attacks in Jerusalem, that killed one person and left many injured.

On 23 November, Secretary of State at the MFA and Government Plenipotentiary for Compensation for Damage Caused by the German Aggression and Occupation in 1939-1945 Arkadiusz Mularczyk informed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland had sent an official note to foreign ministries of member states of the European Union, the Council of Europe, NATO, and to Poland’s other important partners worldwide.

On 15-18 November 2022, on the initiative of Poland, Armenia and Azerbaijan hosted a group of envoys and ambassadors for the Eastern Partnership from twelve European Union member states (Austria, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Germany, Poland, and Sweden) who were accompanied by the Special Envoy of the European External Action Service for the Eastern Partnership.

On 17 November 2022, on behalf of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau awarded orders and state distinctions, including Medals for Long-Time Service and Medals on the Centenary of Regaining Independence to outstanding members of the foreign service.

16 November marks Foreign Service Day. So important to Polish diplomats and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the holiday falls on the anniversary of the telegram sent on 16 November 1918 by Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces Józef Piłsudski. In it, he notified the international community of the rebirth of an independent Polish state after 123 years of foreign rule.

On 16 November 2022, Piotr Potocki handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a set of 1930s silverware that belonged to the legacy of the Second Polish Republic in Madrid. The ceremony was part of this year’s celebrations marking Foreign Service Day.

On 16 November 2022, Undersecretary of State Paweł Jabłoński hosted another round of consultations with the Palestinian side, headed by Secretary of State Amal Jadou of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

“We want Polish public diplomacy to use new tools and opportunities to show what is best in Poland and Polish people. Bicycle diplomacy is an element of such measures,” said Head of the Foreign Service Arkady Rzegocki as he presented awards to diplomats who were most actively engaged in World Bicycle Day, an annual event initiated by a Pole.
