Seniors deserve all the best – a decent, carefree and possibly active life. The 13th and 14th pension pays, favourable adjustments of benefits, activations schemes and more serve the achievement of this goal. "It is important to implement the idea of intergeneration solidarity at every level. Not only through support from the State, but also by creating the environment that is friendly to elderly people, also at the mental level," notes Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy Stanisław Szwed.

The last years have been the time of big changes in the family policy, but also on the labour market. "The launch of social programmes, led by Family 500+, soon to become 800+, as well as the investment in new places of care of the youngest children, the record low unemployment rate and greater protection of workers. These are just some of the actions that make up the better today and safe tomorrow of Polish families," said Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

At a meeting organised at the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the amount of the minimum wage to be in force from the next year.

Minister Marlena Maląg opened a Youth Support Point in Ostrów Wielkopolski, a facility that assists young people in making informed and right decisions regarding education and professional career. The Minister also took part in the conference "Jarocin Social Services Centre – A New Quality of Life for the Residents".

According to estimates of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, the unemployment rate in Poland amounted to 5% in August this year – the same as in the previous month," announced Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family and Social Policy, at the Economic Forum in Karpacz.

A rental shop for technologies that support persons with disabilities has been opened. Applications can be submitted on the PFRON website. Renting will be free of charge, and customers will be assisted by experts in selecting appropriate equipment or software.

President Andrzej Duda has signed the Act on changes in bridging pensions. "Repealing of the expiring nature of bridging pensions may contribute to greater appeal of work in special conditions and of special nature. The changes will allow a much larger group of people to access bridging pensions," points out Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family and Social Policy.

According to Eurostat, the unemployment rate in Poland in June this year was 2.7percent. Thus, we ranked second in the European Union in terms of unemployment, together with the Czech Republic. A better situation was recorded only in Malta.

The Family 800+ program, the ongoing call for applications under the Good Start program, and the ongoing call for applications under the Toddler+ program were the main topics of the press briefing held by Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family and Social Policy, and Barbara Socha, the Deputy Minister of Family and government representative for the demographic policy. On Friday, the Senate passed without any corrections an amendment to the bill on state aid for raising children increasing the child-rearing benefit to PLN 800 starting next year. The bill will soon be submitted for signing by President Andrzej Duda.
